papergangstas 1,364
I mean the song bangs. I know it’s totally different from today’s mainstream pop bops but I don’t know why it flopped? I mean I’ve never heard the song on the radio nor seen it on MTV. Almost all of my friends told me the song is “weird” and not even slightly a bop (gotta unfriend them fake hunties ) I’ve never heard a song that’s more energetic than PI someone explain please One of me is wiser. One of me is stronger. One of me is a fighter, and there's a thousand faces of me, Army of me
Scathach 6,674
It's not very good tbh. Her worst lead single.
gagagoogoose 30,952
It flopped for our sins
MsSwan 1,379
I feel like it doesn’t sound modern or catchy enough for the radio, also I’m sure it’s not very well known.
IAmNotHere1997 25,824
It wasn't a proper choice for a lead single. It's not that radio-friendly. A-YO could have worked better.
AnglerfishbraBENUS 5,392
If it was sung with prettier vocals, maybe a lower key, and was even more disco it would have been a smash Sing the chorus in a Diana Ross voice and I'll make sense lol

TeenIdle 121,097
Cause the GP has no taste + Gaga didn't really acknowledge it after the first week
Saint Hollywood 37,361
It didn't live up to the expectations of most people (at first), and there was a severe lack of promotion. I believe that either Million Reasons or even A-YO would have been a better choice for commercial success, but personally I'm not angry that Perfect Illusion was made as the lead single. I think it's a strong song that made a great introduction into the Joanne era.
RonnieGagz 4,300
The GP just want to listen to bad rap **** and tropical pop songs talking about straight teenage love ♡Gaga♡TØP♡Nightwish♡Lana♡Lorde♡Grimes♡
PerfectGUY 7,822
It was a perfect lead single in my opinion, and her best. It was a win or lose. - Either she was promoting the heck out of it and it would have ultimately been loved by everyone considering its quality (the people who initially disliked it would have had understand that this song is a masterpiece at the end). It would have become one of Gaga's classic and a classic in general in music. NO DOUBT - No promo, the song appears too different for people to be interested in it. So people left it since they weren't confronted to it anywhere (no promo) It was an ambitious single, it should have benefited from ambitious plans. That's it

SHALLOW 15,651
I was slayed when it came out. Tho i had to listen to it like 5 times before getting completely into it.
AlexanderMagno 10,746
No, it's not that good. For a song that short (3 minutes), it gets boring halfway through. Unlike what so many fans apparently think, I find it incredibly radio-friendly. But it just gets too repetitive and to be honest radio-friendly is not always a hit. I mean, Love on the Brain is NOT radio friendly and it's one of Rihanna's most played songs on the radio. Lots of radio hits nowadays lack a strong chorus. "Radio-friendly" has changed, it's not Kary Perry pop anymore. Promo was awful. It didn't even feel like a lead single. She gave a few radio interviews and not much more. She seemed bored most of the times. And again, it's a song you get easily tired of listening to.
StarlightSeiya 1,242
It was her best lead single. I don't know why LMs don't like change. I thought it was great. It's one of her few songs I don't skip. Bone Apple Tea bebe
