Gaga's 2018 & 2019

So.... Let's get into it. 

In 2018, I think Gaga should definitely rest as much as she can. By this, I mean limited ASIB Promo and, as hard as this is for me to say it, no pop album (LG6). Her body needs a break from all of the choreography. She's a great dancer, but her body is breaking down. If she wants to continue improving herself as a performer - like we know our determined queen does - I think she should do some work with her vocal coach so she can really take her singing to the next level. This is absolutely no shade, don't come for me. She is absolutely the best vocalist in popular music today (Bey is a close second), but for her to leave her mark as one of the best vocalists in pop music ever (with Whitney, Mariah, Barbra, etc.), she may need a little extra training. She is obviously already an excellent singer, C2C come through. 

In 2019, I think she should continue her break, tbh. I think she should continue to gain respect among older generations and continue her tribute slayage game. No touring, no new album, maybe a few fun singles for the fans with limited promo. She definitely needs to make appearances at the Oscars and Grammys to perform the vocal masterpieces we know she is capable of. Maybe, just maybe, star in another movie. That's it. I honestly think that she should cancel the Vegas Residency because it's just too much. The Joanne Tour hopefully has grossed her enough coins to make it through these years without touring. 

If she wants, I think her body may finally be healthy enough to release another pop album in 2020. However, being the versatile queen that she is, we really shouldn't expect this. I wouldn't mind her releasing a rock album, a solo jazz album (sorry Tony), or another stripped-down album with ballads. But god forbid, please no country. 

I think that Gaga's impact from here on out may be more vocally than necessarily iconically. She is too talented to make another pop album. However, I can't deny that even I am thirsty for some bops. Maybe she should just release the original LG5 concept album that she made with RedOne to appease all of her fans looking for new killer bops. Just a surprise release as a gift to her fans.  

Anyway, I know I'm a little crazy.  But am I completely crazy? Would anyone else live for a concept like this? Or is it just me?  Vote in the poll above and we shall see.

I agree with you that she should rest in 2018 but not in 2019 however. The music industry is constantly changing and evolving and new artists and trends come and go. She has the momentum currently to have a good era for LG6. If she takes time to break until she starts doing promo for A Star Is Born she should be plenty rested and have time to make LG6. Not to mention by living her life and feeling what’s organically there will truly help her writing be more relatable and will also give her time to take a needed break. However, I think LG6 should begin right before ASIB. Rather than focus on the movie, Gaga should use the promo to make her splash back in the industry when her name starts popping up again. It gives her 8 months to rest.

I'd say let her rest this year, Vegas was supposed to start on December, so that's 10 months, hopefully that's enough for her to get better and heal.
Then she could start doing Vegas, let's not forget she's supposed to do 70+ shows in two years, that's not even a show every week. She can do it, not a full two hour show with hard choreo, for sure, there's no need for that.
Then at 2019 she could release a new album, add the lead single (make it a ballad) to Vegas and promote it in the USA, maybe Grammys 2019 or the Oscars. It'll be something fresh to start an era, you won't be dancing that much to promote it and people may like it.

I just want her to do whatever she needs to do, if that means a year long black out while she rests and heals her body so be it. 

At the end of the day I don't to see my fave artist circle the drain and end up in the ground after ODing on pain meds and having a heart attack during a performance or something.

I honestly don't want or feel the need to get new music this year or the one after. I don't need any huge promo for ASIB or ANYTHING. I would like to see Gaga perform in ten years, and for that to happen she needs to take her rest seriously.

I think you make some really good points here. Mid- to late-2018 is prime promo spotting for ASIB, and obviously the start of her Vegas residency, but other than that she should definitely take it a bit easier.

Not that she can't release singles or gifts or any sort of content, but she could definitely take it easier physically.

I would love for her to come back full-force in 2019. To the extent of which she can, physically, of course.

I think nobody belives that 2018 is LG6 related. Its just stupid. 

There is still a chance we might get some new music (song or cover besides ASIB) but LG6 is waaaay to soon 

But Little Monsters always tend to have those ambitios wishes when they want new music

Is there not a chance that she could rest for 3 years if she wanted to then the year of her next album the fibro could come back and be the same as this year? Obviously she can't plan like this because they tried that with the reschedule and look what happened

Apart from promoting the film, and planning Vegas, Gaga should take a break for the rest of the year. No major appearances and no hardcore rehearsals until right before the show. She needs this time to rest, spend time with family, and make music. 

Then In 2019, at least within the first 6 months, she needs to give it all to LG6. And instead of touring the album tbh, id rather her work as hard as possible to make a fun, exciting commercially successful era. Better videos, bigher television performances, and lots of interviews and appearances.

There’s no new album in 2018. I could see her doing one or two buzz singles ala The Cure right before Vegas to drum up some free publicity. Other than that I see her laying low til ASIB. She’s in a weird position right now since the cancellation made her miss two primary markets (London and Paris) and they have to be made up in some fashion. I have no idea how she goes about fixing that but I’m sure her team will come up with something.

Pop music’s in a weird place right now - it seems to be in transition. The past year or so has been this jarring conflict between tropical/house beats and more acoustic with only a few songs bridging the two (looks at Havana). It’s a strange time to be putting out music unless she wants to drive the conversation which I’m sure we’d all be fine with
