Quasi 10,923
All y'all who haven't watched 10 Cloverfield Lane get your asses on Netflix RN. Literally one of the tensest, weirdest, and most entertaining film to come out in the last 5 years. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas. Jeremy Kosinski 148
10 Cloverfield lane was brilliant cuz the whole point of this franchise is the not knowing and the hysteria... in todays world this might be godzilla like however the part about mass hysteria and not knowing but in the age of social media and footage being everywhere is where the horror actually comes in... not too far fetched about your government lying to you 😑

JGD 12,020
Finally finished 10 Cloverfield Lane! Time to watch Spoiler Can we talk about how Michelle just stands and stares at the alien ship as it’s coming towards her. austincola 805
I still don’t understand how this connects to the Cloververse, or how this awakens the monster from the first movie.. 10 Cloverfield Lane was the better “sequel” in my opinion. Quasi 10,923
INITIAL THOUGHTS: Okay so I thought the film was entertaining, but not up to par with Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane. SPOILERS AHEAD: Spoiler Reasons: -The scriptwriting seemed a bit too preachy, whereas 10 Cloverfield Lane had concise dialogue without treating the audience like they weren't knowledgeable, this film I felt suffered from a script that was at times almost cheesy and obvious. It's almost as if the scriptwriters were taking out lines from a textbook. Some of the line delivery sort of reminded me of kids who go to drama camps and almost overdeliver. Certain inflections in the way some of the actors delivered the lines didn't seem believable at times. -Chris O Dowd's acting was quite bad in my opinion. Nothing about his delivery seemed believable, and he was more there for comic relief - a comic relief that was unnecessary. The part where his arm came off really left a sour taste in my mouth given that he almost had no reaction. -The promotion advertised the film as answering some major questions about Clover - none of which were answered. -Molly's storyline seemed really unnecessary. They could have not put her in the story and it would have made no difference whatsoever. -The film was a lot of running around to help save the other crewmates. At some points in the film, I forgot what the next objective was anyways because it seemed to me like they always were running back and forth between the control room and a section of the ship where a crewmate was distressed. -While I absolutely ADORED seeing Clover in the film, it's appearance seemed like a last minute fanservice straight out of a fanfiction. I wanted to see Clover yeah, but make its reveal worthwhile and something that adds meaning to the plot. Also Clover wasn't as tall as the clouds, it was roughly 300 ft if I recall correctly. Unless this was a completely different Clover from the first film. -I did however enjoyed Hamilton's story arc with her family. It made for some touching moments and gave the film some emotional resonance without shoving it down the audience's throat. Overall, while the movie kept me guessing, it lacked that Cloverfield creepiness, tension, and foreboding feeling that made me stan the first two films. Apparently, J.J. Abrams was too busy to continue working on post production of the film, and with that being said, I find his absence quite noticeable given the final results. I'm still a Cloverfield fanboy through and through, but this entry has left me feeling doubtful about the direction this franchise could possibly go. Let's hope the next one meets the standards set by the first two entries. What do you guys think? I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas. I feel like this one suffered because it was trying to do a bit too much heavy-lifting to explain the whole Cloverfield universe. However, I feel like from here on out they have the freedom to explore any time/space anomaly as a consequence of the Cloverfield paradox and keep the films loosely tethered together. The 4th film is set during WWII. So, clearly they are branching out from here. I liked it overall, but it did not quite live up to 10 Cloverfield Lane for me. RAMROD 109,431
This movie had lot of moments where it goes from 0 to 100 real quick. What a ride, honestly!! This film seems to be the prequel set as the cause of events happening in 2 previous films? From what I can gather, this one and the first cloverfield are in the same timeline, and the 10 cloverfield is what happened after these two. That final scenes was great! This is essentially a Prequel to the whole franchise and kicks off the series. SPOILERS: Spoiler As explained by the one dude them using the Shepard could cause rips in space-time and bring in creatures from other dimensions into other universes. So when the Shepard was used the first time and they transported to the other universe that ripped a hole in the fabric of the universe bringing the Aliens from 10CL into THAT universe and somehow bringing Clover into it's universe. The Clover at the end of this movie isn't the same one from the original movie and this is a different universe all together.
