Let’s face it

Gaga has lost her spark, not 100% of it but some of it...

But you know what? That’s completely normal, it has happened to every artist that is or was once big, it happened to Michael Jackson, it happens right now to Britney, Madonna, etc.

The one thing that keeps me wondering is why it happened so soon to Gaga... madonna is not the same energetic and creative woman she used to be in the 80s but she’s been around for decades, its understandable considering her age and how long she’s been in the industry.

same as Britney, if you watch her recent performances she’s not even the shadow of who she used to be in the 90s, BUT she was still slaying and delivering in her SIXTH ALBUM. (Circus)

Gaga’s popularity and success began falling right after The Fame Monster, sure she was still controversial and somewhat relevant but it feels like since Born This Way nothing has been the same anymore, her videos are getting more and more generic and predictable every time, and this has nothing to do with the Joanne concept, which I actually liked, I still remember when you never knew what to expect when it came to a new Gaga video, her performances are getting less energetic and completely lack that “Gaga creativity” that they used to have.

Like I said, I’m not being delusional or salty, this is just part of every artist career, I just wonder why it happend just as early as AFTER HER 3RD ALBUM, back in 2011/2013 would you have believed that Gaga would be doing Vegas residency this soon?

What do you think?

I agree to an extent but saying it happened after TFM or BTW is a serious reach.

BTW was arguably her best era and ARTPOP was her most ambitious even if management ****ed it up.

If anything we can say that because of Joanne, but it’s ok to have a stripped down phase. We will be able to worry if LG6 is a Joanne 2.0

Perhaps, crippling pain can take a lot out of someone? Cut her some slack. :triggered:

Moreover, if you look at the entire Cheek to Cheek tour, she radiates happiness and creativity. Maybe... just maybe.... the way one expresses his or her creativity can change when someone matures.

Mister Gaga

I think that the ARTPOP backlash affected her in a way much more bigger that what we've seen, and we will never understand. Everything about her changed. One thing is losing your spark as a performer because of age or illness, losing commercial success due to so many years in the industry.

But other thing is changing your ideas, idk how to explain it. Remember when she hated hollywood? Now she's hollywood favorite girl (Golden Globes, Oscars, Vegas). Remember when she said she'd never play safe? Look at Joanne, it's target was the basic GP. Remember when she said she composed for the music/arts, and not for the charts? Look at The Cure. We kinda saw the old Gaga at the Halftime Show, but it was just for 13 minutes. And i'm not talking about outfits, or commercial success, i couldn't care less about it. I'm talking about her soul, her integrity.

I've been thinking for the last couple of days that the Gaga stanning kinda blinded me. I'm seeing things different this days. Not in a bad way, but just from another perspective.

Not just Gaga, all the pop singers lost the media attention these last years... pop music wave of 2008 just finished. I don't think Gaga's carreer lost any spark, I think general public and media move into another kind of music (I don't see the 2010 hype for any music video released nowadays).

Gaga never had 2 sold out dates in Spain until JWT... all the shows where sold out but they take way more than these ones and they were just one show :golfclap:

Plus remember she's now 31 years old... she was 21 when Just Dance was released... people grow up and change.

Madonna was never that creative, she just had an amazing team to put out interesting things for her. She's just a puppet just like Britney

I do believe that Gaga's creative peak was clearly 2008-2012 in terms of literally everything.(Music-visuals-performances-looks). I am really not sure if you are implying that Born This Way was already a decline in terms of creativity but I believe that her best TV performances/songs were during that era.

But it would happen sooner or later.Gaga tried to sell a very specific persona in her early career that couldn't last very long. After 2012 it was already taken too far..I believe that it was a very smart move to completely break the "Lady Gaga" image especially after ARTPOP era that was both commercially and creatively unsuccessful imo (at least compared to her previous works).I just wish that her new direction would be more interesting and on par quality-wise with what she did earlier in her career and sadly that hasn't happened yet..It feels like after the failure of ARTPOP she is scared to open up creatively and she is doing what she thinks she is supposed to be doing. Joanne is certainly not a bad album but other than a few rly good moments like MR,Joanne,Sinner's Prayer etc.,it's quite bland and uninspired IMO. "The Cure" also sounds like a dated 2009 rushed song that was rejected and was re-produced in a cheap way to fit the new trends..Also the fact that she really wants to please the pop fans with releasing songs like "Dancing in circles" doesn't help either.. ..I still have lots of hope for her and I will be following her career since I do believe in her potential and I love her voice. But yeah I do feel like her genuine creativity is not present rn

Honey don't you dare. Britney is a puppet, that's for sure, but Madonna? Girl, you're talking about a woman that changed music forever. Madonna writes all her songs, has major input in literally everything she does. I can't believe what i'm reading :saladga:
