Quark 7,098
o<(0_0)>o I think that Billboard counting music streams is unfair. At the very least they should reduce streaming value or only count paid streams. The reason I say this is because there is a lot of ambiguity towards what people are really interested in when they stream music. When someone buys a song, you really know that they like the song. However, when someone streams a song, it may be out of curiosity, it may be because they are forced to stream it on a play list, or may be accidental. Also a lot of the times you stream a song you end up not liking it but you still end up contributing towards its sales. So, in general when you stream music, you make songs successful for reasons that does not include actually liking the music.
tomsches 17,398
I agree! Streaming changed the music industry for the worse. I don't stream music. I never really understood it. The only thing I do is, once or twice a month I look for new bands and artists I want to follow, so I skim their catalogue on Youtube and if I find something I like I buy it.
