Woman killed for converting to Christianity in Germany

An Afghan asylum seeker went on trial in southern Germany on Tuesday accused of stabbing to death a compatriot mother-of-four because he was furious she had converted to Christianity.

Prosecutors charge that the 30-year-old, who was not named by authorities, murdered the woman in front of two of her children because she had turned her back on the Islamic faith.

The Muslim man allegedly used a 20-centimetre bladed knife to slash and stab the Afghan woman 16 times outside a supermarket in the southern city of Prien on Chiemsee lake on April 29th last year.

The case came at a time when the German public is torn over a mass influx of more than one million refugees and migrants since 2015, many from conflict-torn Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The 38-year-old woman had earlier asked the man whether he wanted to convert too, a request that was "irreconcilable with his Muslim faith," prosecutors told the court in the city of Traunstein.

Two of the woman's children, aged five and 11, watched as the man allegedly killed their mother. Her two other children are adults.

Passers-by tried to stop the attacker by hurling a shopping trolley at him."

I hope the kids stay fine. This is going to be hard for them. Trauma in childhood is not good

Melech I dont think I have ever seen you post anything other than threads about crimes done by muslims...it's getting excessive at this point. Targeting and propagating horrible things one specific group of ppl do isn't fair or right. Please at least make an effort to hide your Islamophobia.

Muslims need to go through an "enlightenment period" just like christians went through it. I know Islam is a new religion in comparison to Christianity so it will happen much later but things need to progress and right now it feels like it is regressing (at least in some parts of the world). Then again we got crazy Christians in the bible belt of the US killing LGBTQ and black ppl yearly so it seems there still needs to be work done in every major religion...ugh it's so complicated.

no there is a difference. this person, like me, is of part Jewish descent and has always...always posted articles targeted mostly at crimes muslims commit. There is a difference with reporting general issues and making a conscious effort to take part in "othering" tactics and spreading only negatives about 1 specific group of ppl. Don't play devil's advocate.

You're making assumptions, Ive had discussions about islam before with Melech and never got the idea that they were anti-islam

You are the one making assumptions. You literally said that I was being ignorant without even knowing me where as I have seen (and many others) how Melech tends to push an anti muslim agenda on here. I am all here for discussions and criticism of islam. What I am not here for and will not tolerate is someone very clearly trying to create otherism and propagate only negatives when it comes to one group of ppl. No matter who they may be. I'm sorry that is not how I operate.

Well, no one stops you from making threads. I have nothing against Islam. I do have something against the Islam that kills people or tells people what to do, but this goes for any religion or ideology. You accuse me without any base.

That is what I am saying though...criticism is great. It should be encouraged however when 1 person is the one that makes 90% of the threads based on crimes committed by muslims it becomes problematic. It's an agenda and propagating hate towards that 1 group of ppl.

if anyone here is propagating hate on Muslim people, then it's the horrible people that do these crimes, not us - people who acknowledge the issue
