Melodrama was a cohesive, beautiful body of work. From start to finish. Not to mention Lorde wrote every single song, only sharing credits with Jack Antanoff on select tracks. The production is breathtaking and I will not let her try to talk down upon the album that contains “Supercut”, “Green Light”, “Hard Feelings/Loveless” & “The Louvre”

She’s right. It’s overrated, but she’s like the Rory Gilmore of music, and no one is going to criticize her much.

That said, I don’t think Lorde wants us to think she’s on Fiona’s level - she’s pretty humble.  It’s more the media & her stans who gas her up like that.

I don't see a problem with Azelia not liking Melodrama BUT in the times we are living right now, the Grammy's mess we saw on Monday, the Time's up movement and the whole political and societal enviroment we are right now, she should've at least give her some credit! The album was adored by not only critics but a big portion of the GP.

I don't know if it was her, who called out sometime ago a female celebrity for taking down women while preaching feminism or something like that. And in light of this today, this is pure hypocrisy...

Melodrama still is one of the best albums of 2017 and yes, Lorde does have the potential to become the Fiona Apple of a new generation.

 

 

EDIT: I don't get why Cardi B gets a pass for her messy attitude but Azealia doesn't  her music is so much better. At least cancel them both.

All the Melodrama hate in here.  

It was one of my favorite albums of 2017 and Lorde is one of the few artists besides Gaga that I really stan. I'd have loved it if she had won the Grammy but unfortunately that didn't happen. Oh well, she'll get plenty of chances to win one in the future, I know she can do it.
