Taylor Hiding This Era: A Calculated Move Or...

I think we've all noticed that Taylor Swift has been hiding this whole era.

She hasn't really done much promo for it.

During album release week she did do things like SNL and Jimmy Fallon.

But even when LWYMMD was released there was no media promotion, aside from a music video

No television performances

She could've performed at the VMAs, AMAs and Grammys, but didn't

Not really any magazine interviews

Basically the complete opposite of the 1989 era

So my question is, do you think this is a calculated intentional move on her part.

I could see it being that way, in an attempt to save her career as a whole. Like kinda take a step back so she doesn't over-expose herself and risk loosing her career, but at the same time keeping her name out there. So like this era would be looking at the big picture success of her career and not on the era itself. Basically focused on longevity of her career.

Or do you think Taylor's just personally reached a spot where she was so hurt by the backlash towards her that she wants to take a step away even if that means her era is less successful than the previous one?

Or was this era planned to be big too and it just totally flopped on them

or something else

Looking for Taylor this era like:

The second and third opinion you made makes since. And Didn’t Taylor have one of those "Flop era" before if she hasn’t then I would call that the flop era

she did have a "flop" era with Speak Now. The album sold well, but the singles flopped

but this eras singles have not been performing well either

I have the feeling that even if she had done more promo, some of her singles would not have charted better :duck: Like End Game, her name and Ed alone should be able to carry the song to top 10  Ed is super popular among GP. She is also very GP friendly and has a very dedicated fanbase. The fact that the song could not make it to top 5 pop radio still surprises me :toofunny:

She is afraid of flopping like Katy Perry this era. She is carefully planning out her singles and promotion. while not shoving herself down peoples throats to the point people of sick of hearing about her will not consume her music anymore.

Calculated, as usual. If Taylor wants to flop she will flop, if Taylor wants to be at the top, she'll be at the top.

She's achieving a good balance of exposure this era. Her album sold very well, and she obtained a #1 hit, she basically made sure to not be too overexposed, especially in today's political climate in the entertainment industry.

The less things you say, the less things the public can use against you.

Mister Gaga

A bit of both. Exposing herself, right now, would mean an inevitable backlash. The GP is thirsty to see her fall, just like they do with every pop star after they reach their peak (Madonna - Erotica, Gaga - ARTPOP, Britney - Blackout, Katy - Witness).

She's smart and she knows this, so she's avoiding it. The album is still successful, and despite the singles might be underperforming, is better to have a few flops and continue her career with her next album (when the GP kinda 'forgets' about the desiree to see her fail), than sinking really deep and putting her career in danger, just like Gaga in the past, Katy, Madonna, Brit, etc.

Nobody f*cking promotes music anymore. Whats the point when nobody buys it? The money is in the touring, which is probably what she's planning in great detail instead of wasting time planning performances for award shows that nobody watches anymore.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

I feel like she might be a little sad/depressed. She seems so off even in candids of her just casually walking outside.

Hiding? :sharon:

She have a stadium she need to prepare, she probably rehearsing and doing lots of meeting to make sure her tour is exactly the same with how she envisioned it to be.

Every major artists that does big production with their shows does this, refrain from the public until before the tour starts.

You guys are ridiculous honestly.

I'd say she is learning from Gaga's mistakes. 1989 was her TFM and Reputation is her BTW, but unlike Gaga during BTW she is not shoving herself down GP's throat all the time, so people won't get over her for her next era, she and her team are realy smart, when things water down for her next era she will be back again on top of all charts and snatching all awards.
