I don't have anything against Bruno, I'm genuinely happy that his work is being appreciated by fans and the GP in general. The fact here is that AOTY is not an award honoring fun and catchy music, which Bruno's undeniably is. It doesn't award critical acclaim or sales, it awards by definition artistic and technical excellence and meanwhile entertaining, playful and hip-moving music can be subjective to all, excellence has a certain degree of objectivity. An Album Of The Year should embody deep lyrical content that touches thought-provoking personal matters or social awareness; it shouldn't be about anything about music that, in some way, leaves a sign in music history. I'd still stand by the joke if PF won any unfitting Grammy, the fact that I'm a fan of the artist shouldn't stop us from seeing things for what they are. It's cool to be nominated and to win, but it's not the end of the world if that's not the case.
