Be grateful she sacrificed a lot of her commercial success to be an advocate for LGBT rights and generate conversation about online bullying and mental illness when NO one else in the industry dared to.

I totally agree and that's why I wouldn't take it back.
I was just trying to explain the commercial decline and rectify people who blame ARTPOP for her decline

Born This Way didn’t ruin Gaga, it made her.

The single choices were questionable, as well as their handling but it was still a huge and successful era.  The only era to generate a stadium tour with various sold out shows.

The problem was that she came back weaker with ARTPOP.  She wasn’t in the right place to promote it and everything fell apart during that era which killed it.

With BTW it officially became gay to like Gaga. That was One Problem for the gp.

I agree with the overexposure. I think it is just normal that massive, beloved popstars get hated After a few albums. Happened to britney too

Mister G

I have to disagree. Why be like everyone else or be someone you know you're not meant to be? The only issue around that time was the over-exposure. I think people are more open to religious references now; although people have been doing it for ages but I guess a pop star isn't allowed to make statements outside of music?

I applaud her for what she did during that era and I applaud any form of risk-taking she does.

I kinda agree. I think people started being "over" her at the end of this era. She was everywhere since 2008 and people were just tired.

Same thing might be happening with Katy Perry. She was everywhere with Prism and she may have tired people that's why she is flopping now.

Not agree about Katy. She released Witness through the 5 years after Prism. GP had a lot time to relax from her music. She has flopped because of her untrend music, some songs sound like demos of Prism/TD and they are too boring. Also, her image was destroying too, GP didn't appreciate her new hair-style and after all she was annoying cuz of mess with Hilary/Trump, she tried to be a good and smart politician whom she hadn't ever been.

Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No

Thoughts like these really draw the line between little chartsters and little monsters. This post just makes me appreciate BTW wayy more. Gaga really took the risk and created something that was polarizing at the time but will be remembered for years. BTW was important to a lot of people and like Gaga said, if she could touch the soul of just one person, then she would've done her job. Quality over quantity any day, any hour, any millennium :fthis:

True but if she had done what the GP wanted she would've been another Katy Perry

true, but honestly, i think positively and negatively, they way her career developed was amazing, a decline was gonna happen anyway at some point. Born This Way was a big risk and a good one, she could've remained as an extraordinary star that at the same time was GP friendly for as long as she wanted but she decided not to do that.
