caseymonster 424 Posted January 29, 2018 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Im gonna leave Gaga out because we all biased. however, some of the snubs, in comparison, were truely monsterous. the snubs I witnessed tonight were obscenities from the depraved voters who give sanction to the mindless, overly produced music to be the dominant genre. Kendrick wrote a rap song about being humble and got it to number one, in a genre that is all about flexing! How can one overlook it and give it to a song (that was written by over 10 writers) about spoiling girl with expensive garbage?! Howwwwwwww?! How the hell did Alesia cara take it over SZA?! This is prepasterous. I might as well have witnessed Selena taking song of the year for fetish. I’m a musician myself, and this was hurting me physically to watch and accept as the order of things. Music has so much influence on pop culture and the young generation of today. Why not reward creativity? Why not reward true efforts and vision? Reward the journey of creating a piece of art. I think that those awards are truely the reflection of the reality that we live in, safe, yet artificial and manufactured. Rather mediocre and soulless, than opinionated and polarizing. I hope Gaga renounces them from now on, she should stop submitting her art to the hands of “critics” and just does what she loves. I am officially over praise from looters of the mind. It's legal to bribe the voters, and especially with the Oscars, it's encouraged. So, recognition might be a part of it, but gifts are also involved. Not to throw in confirmation bias, but the fact that she isn't winning, lends itself to the idea that she's not sending the voters expensive gifts. We would be waving the Grammy’s at other fan bases if she won but now that she didn’t we are throwing a hissy fit.
