Pray4FameGa 3,141
Lana del Rey is an extroadinary artist and visionary. She is relentless in releasing music and each of her releases has depth, originality and timeless appeal. She is such a genius and her brand is entirely self-created and yet has never won a Grammy, only receiving a handful of nominations. Ultraviolence, which I consider an absolute modern classic, was not even nominated. Ok she got a nom for L4L but why in general is she so ignored by the academy? Damon 10,904
She's the DiCaprio of Grammys tbh, she really deserves to win ... and now i just sit in silence.
zakariah 11,718
If the Grammys actually awarded artistry and quality, she'd have at least 6 by now, but it doesn't, so she doesn't.
highbythebeach 2,475
The Grammies are just awards that are given to the most popular music, divide was one of the least critically acclaimed albums of the nominees and that should just simply explain it. Divide has a 62 on metacritic, Lust for Life has 79 and Rainbow has 84.

She had to prove herself, and since Ultraviolence, she started to be appreciated the way she deserves. Secondly, grammys are a popularity contest, and despite Lana is popular, she's not the most popular artist, and she doesn't have the biggest sales in the industry. Don't be mad tho, Lana's music is incredibly gorgeous and the public knows that, that's why she's kind of a cult artist now a days.
Perfume 8,801
Young and Beautiful was supposed to be nominated for a Grammy and probably would have won, but someone had sent in a letter to the Acadamy saying it didn’t make the deadline which was untrue. So Lana’s biggest chance was sabotaged. an angel held me like a child
LDGA 1,260
I think that is because she is not so good at live performances.

That’s not true at all, you are basing that statement on early performances in her career where she was very obviously extraordinarily nervous. Here some performances where she completely outdoes herself. an angel held me like a child
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
If the grammys cant even award outgoing, outspoken, brilliant people of color who are both critically and sometimes even commercially successful than their white counterparts, how you think they are gonna notice a femme fatale sadcore alternative pop artist? She's very popular, and her artistry is much more recognized than it was in the past, and shes widely influential on the industry itself, despite seeing relatively little commercial success from that industry. But that's it. She deserves at least nominations, easily. Ultraviolence sold well and was a critical darling, on soo many year end lists, its a masterful record from top to bottom and it was fresh and new from the alleged "popstar". But, no nom. I gave up hope then. I don't expect her to ever win one unless she goes back to BTD levels of Pop, which even then is not mainstream at all. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

I became a fan after UV so I don’t know what happened but I read that no one took her seriously during BTD. i don’t get it though, were they deaf? She had a shaky performance on SNL once but BTD was so fresh and original for a debut pop artist.
