ARTPOP is underrated af

***this is just my opinion***, but I think ARTPOP had a stronger concept that Joanne. AP was an explosion of pain & depression after (hip) injuries, bad relationships, and drugs&alcohol addiction. ARTPOP was meant for people who couldn't find a light, so Gaga gave them that light by showing that they were not alone in their problems. Sure, Gaga didn't do as good a job at showing that in the music (probably cuz we never got visuals), but it still was an amazing body of work. Joanne, on the other hand, still had the emotion ARTPOP had, but the concept was hard(er) to relate to for the fans. Joanne was basically about how a death took a toll on her family as she was growing up, but we never got the whole story. How did Joanne (person) become such an important part of Gaga's life, but she never met the woman? There must have been an event in family that supported the concept of Joanne , that Gaga has not been open about. We don't know for sure. Thoughts?

Y’all need to learn to separate what happened during the ARTPOP Era from the album itself.

You mean, an explosion of joy in which her pain is hidden.

sure, there are different interpretations but i think the correct one, which if i recall is also Gaga’s is that she took all her pain and transformed into something explosive and full of joy , in order to exorcise that pain.

N n n n no Lemmie explain, I'm on about the album itself - I don't think it was as well executed (writing, production, vocals) as Joanne is. Sorry I didn't really make that clear. I am really objective about the album, disregarding  events - because it was such an amazing and beautiful era I will always remember it <3

K then, but even on this matter i think ARTPOP has a heavier but of course also better production than Joanne.

Joanne has a very light production, it is also kinda uncomparable to ARTPOP. They’re literally two different genres. I think it’s easier tho to make some easy melodies with a guitar than produce heavy beats like in ARTPOP.

THIS

Pop Tart may have had a better concept since it was a clash of multiple ideas. Joanne was only focused on finding identity and her aunt being a part of her. Joanne destroys Pop Tart musically.
