Excluding Britney but having Xtina, Muse(wtf is that?) and Shakira(who's name people in the USA barely remember)..........

All these people doubting Britney, but considering Katy Perry performed and no one roasted her, Britney is safe. And Madonna's 2012 Half Time Show was also a mess and she barely sang live and didn't dance like at all, but it was also received well. Britney is still one of the artists that deliver good shows, people hold her to her early 00s self, but she is 15 years older now and has gone through a lot in her career. And she can decide for herself if she could handle it or not, she is not gonna do it untill she decides and feels ready. I think she would slay once she decides to perform there, since she always delivers when she wants to.

No offense to you or any Britney fan, but I didn't include Britney 'cause I don't feel she really has the potential to handle a massive show like the SB. The ones I included do.

I know she used to be the ultimate force in pop music with her dance routines and her irresistible charisma, but since her anxiety issues started, she doesn't seem to be a good option to perform the halftime show. And the ones you named (Katy and Madonna) may not have massive voices either, but they are very confident women and still can deliver incredible shows. 

This is just my opinion, so you can disagree. I like Britney, but I don't think she's the more ideal option

The problem with Britney is that people compare her to her early 00s self and she is not 18 anymore, her dancing is better than that of 4/5 of the artists in the industry even nowadays and people always have fun on her concerts even PoM. Her only problem is the anxiety and that she always lypsincs. The first one is easy to deal with, but her lack of confidence realy is a problem. However I'm sure that if she decides to do the SB she would be ready, she nows what it means to headline it and I'm sure she is not gonna perform there unless she is ready. On the other side, even nowadays at her current stage of performing, she is still a better option than 2/3 of those you included though. Aside from P!nk and probably Metallica everyone else is boring/has no hits. I mean, Xtina can't dance, her last remembered hits are from 2001 and her singing.......  Kendrick does not have the hits, Shakira is irrelevant in the US, JLo is irrelevant and does not have hits, I don't even know what a "Muse" is, Alicia Keys is irrelevant, forgotten and has like 2 hits and Daft Punk has literaly 2 hit songs, Rihanna is boring live, she has hits and is relevant, but I don't think she can deliver a good enough show. Britney's catalogue of hits is incredible and even if she doesn't dance as much as she used to she is still entertaining to watch, especialy with great production on stage. She is the only good option for next years SB, offcourse if she decides.
