MsSwan 1,379
Pretty sure views count more than once, but you have to be in the US for it to count for charting.

I saw an article on a thread here but I forgot what thread. I also had a self-made video on yt and played on a loop only to find out later that the extra views dissapeared. youtube recognizes the IP of you computer. Savage 1,783
So apparently Spotify on iPad does not make you pay to have unlimited songs. It lets me choose to just listen to Joanne even tho I don't have premium. Will that count?

Arturo 40,746
Yes but it doesnt count as much as a Spotify stream from a paid account Benfits of using Spotify paid: Counts the most for a single on th Hot 100 Counts the most for an album on the BB200 Spotify free counts less Youtube counts less for the Hot 100 and not at all for the album on the BB200. 7 others 562
YouTube will count your views, as long as they are real, like just in 1 tab and video playing from start to end, if you skip too much it wont count.

I want to know if watching a video over and over (not on a playlist) and actually refreshing the page each time, counts for views? I knew putting them on playlists didn't count (we found that out when Applause was first released) and I also think if you hit the replay button, it won't count either. But I thought pressing the refresh button after each view was enough to count? I mean, surely if one person likes a video so much that they watch it over and over all day, that should count for something? Think about all those music videos that broke the Vevo 24 hour view record. Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do currently holds the record - it got 43.2 million views in the first 24 hours. At this time, Taylor only had around 25 million subscribers, so I highly doubt 43.2 separate people watched it in that timeframe, especially as, like many artists, she released it on a Wednesday. It was apparently making 30,000 views a minute and 3 million views an hour in that time. It also is the second-fastest YouTube video to reach 100 million views (3.6 days) and set the record for the quickest to reach 200 million, 300 million, 400 million and 500 million views (34.8 days). In just 5 months, it hit 800 million views. That can't possibly all be from 800 million individuals, she'd be at #1 for much longer in the US if that had been the case. And what about Despacito? That video has achieved 4.7 billion views in mere months. There's only 7.6 billion people in the world. I don't believe that the majority of the world has watched this video. That would mean just 2.9 billion haven't seen it. When you consider all the hundreds of millions who live in poverty all over the world, how many people can't afford any electronics and make a couple of dollars a day...it's hard to believe such a thing. Rather, at the beginning, it was a bunch of rabid fans of the artists involved watching it, the public checking out this song everyone's talking about and now it's just hundreds of millions of very patriotic Hispanics viewing it over and over again in order for it to break records. 4.7 billion cannot have watched Despacito, I refuse to believe it. I'm asking all this because I've been routinely replaying Gaga's videos that are almost at 100 million views over and over since roughly 2013 (Paparazzi, Lovegame, TEOG, Y&I, PI and MR) in order for them to be Vevo Certified. I've currently been watching the full version of GUY from beginning to end all day, every day, since the start of the month, in a separate tab, muted. I'm also constantly refreshing Joanne on another tab. If I've just been wasting my time for this long and one view per day would have sufficed, I'd like to know about it.
