And no, the original show was not feminist. It was not sexist at all but it wasn't feminist either. I cringed more at this than at the cringy synopsis

Kayla 7,595
I think it's annoying they're doing a reboot without at least input from the original team and writers. It certainly feels like they're just using the premise and title to do something in a way that reeks of "Hurrah! We're gonna be FEMINISTS!" without actually paying real tribute to the feminists who gave them the idea in the first place; the original show was definitely strong with messages about female empowerment. mpthecat 928
Honestly, I won’t judge it until at least we get casting news, a series order and a trailer and even then, I will give it a chance. But I don’t have high hopes. Thing is, I watched a lot of shows at CW but almost all of them have the same problem after a few seasons, which is lazy writing, fan catering and pointless romances. (Or I just grew out of them) Charmed has a sacred place in my heart and is my childhood but in retrospect, after the original showrunner and creator, Constance M. Burg and Shannen left, the show, especially after season 4, became kinda campy (more so than it was) and I didn’t like the storylines at all. Still, it’s a cult classic like Buffy and I love it with all of it’s flaws. My inner fan would be much happier with a limited Netflix run with the original cast (Shannen included; I don’t know if Rose would do it after she quit acting and everything what’s going on right now). Charmed on the other hand has a following even now almost 15 years later and became a pop culture phenomenon, we'll see about the other one in a few years if it can do. Golden globes disagree !
