Joanne era was pretty perfect from a promotion standpoint. Minus PI getting no promo (granted, they probably saw quickly it was a lost cause and just took it as a buzz single so she would avoid the flop attacks from media), she did good. The tour cancellation was a bummer, but that's not her fault. From what she controlled it's definitely one of the better pop eras of the past few years. Much better than what the other pop girls have been delivering.

Joanne music video and MR/Joanne at the Grammy's was a nice little cherry on top. To have a pop era last from Fall 2016 to Winter 2018 isn't easy, so props to her there.

It's so impressive to see that Lady Gaga sold like 120 millions singles (pure sales) in the world with just 18 singles  and 100 millions come from 10 singles  and without any famous features except Beyoncé

The reason it doesnt happen is because Gaga herself likes traditional album cycles. She said it during Born This Way-- She said she likes when artists travel around and do things DURING the album release since she gets energy/ideas while seeing the fans.

It's admirable, but unfortunately with her illness, two eras now (J/BTW) have shown she can't sustain that model anymore.

This. They can still do it, they just need to be smarter about it rather than jumbled. Like for example, call into Australian radio while in America. And before the era starts, film a performance for Sunrise or another show to air and get a commercial with some big Australian company or something and that’s effective for a single. Around the album, stay in Aus for a week and do The X Factor and one/ two interviews. Space it out well and that’s not very stressful mentally/ physically. Just take a week off after that and adjust to the pain before it needs extreme action

Debut you mean? Over a hundred albums definitely crossed 1M since 2010.

Gaga can still do promo, she just needs some space between them to not be so stressful for her mentally and physically (which in most of the causes it's the reason why her fibromialgya strikes her and btw this is a condition not illness)

I think @TheCureinMalibu meant first week sales with over 1M copies pure sales. Taylor has 4, Gaga has 1 and I dont know who else did.

Yeah. Hopefully her team reevaluates how they plan the next era, since while she got through most of it without issue, it'd stink to see her sidelined with pain again.

The worldwide iTunes banners for Super Bowl weekend when she had every banner for Joanne and the playlist placements on Spotify for The Cure on all WW major Top Hits lists were both really impactful. That's what they need more of. Even though her promotion wasn't global in the sense of jet hopping every other day a la BTW for Joanne, she was still constantly rehearsing and performing and whatever else in a way that's too exhausting.

It's admirable she's such a hard worker, just gotta learn how to balance it all like many of us in our own careers.

At least it's not the opposite problem where she's lazy and takes things for granted like some pop stars after they broke out.
