Like what's holding her back from saying something? Dude sometimes its beyond our damn knowledge as to why she can't speak out about those things. She's a public figure, maybe it's someone behind the scenes, perhaps her PR team, that don't think it's a good idea, I don't know lol

She's not brave by not owning up to her mistakes like that. Sure she's done remarkable work regarding sexual assault, etc. but that shouldn't erase her history entirely either. I really want a reporter one day to straight up ask her how she feels about working with them...
LateToCult 40,910
It’ll be super awkward when people remember that she worked with Terry Richardson and R Kelly for a song that is very suggestive of r*pe
sethrb101 4,523
I know some people find it ridiculous with all these fashion statements (and I totally get it), but I do think it's better to have visible recognition of the issue rather than none at all. That way you can celebrate the excellent work at these award shows and have a good time while staying aware of the issues at all times. Obviously donations and speaking on the issue are more beneficial, but many celebs do this on top of wearing the rose, wearing the pin, wearing black, etc.

SKANK 14,288
People in this thread are being very dishonest about Gaga's extensive collaborations with unsavory individuals. Wearing a white flower on the Grammy red carpet is pure tokenism, if the people wearing them are unable to address the issue honestly. I hope she doesn't wear one. blackthorns 487
y'all are still on about this? Am I defending her collabs with them? no, because they're terrible human beings. BUT Gaga herself is a survivor of sexual assault and has PTSD. The amount of times shes spoken out against or about her sexual assault is insane. I promise she isn't being quiet about it because she doesn't care about sexual assault. If I had a guess, she can't speak out due to legality/contracts. OR shes too embarrassed to. OR (god forbid) she had first hand experience with them being terrible human beings and doesn't want to talk about it. But considering how empathetic, kind, and into activism she is, I promise you it isn't out of not caring. I'm not into the whole "wear black" "wear a white rose" thing because 90% of those people are just doing it for the trend and to not stand out as a terrible human being, but if one person there was sincere in wearing it, it'd be Lady Gaga. It feels like she's trying to sweep it under the rug by not owning up to the fact that she's worked with these abusers and to this day, she hasn't admitted any wrongdoing or condemned their specific actions. If people on this site want to vilify Justin Timberlake for working with Woody Allen then they should do the same for Lady Gaga. Saying "that's how life goes" is the exact sort of culture of complacency that Times Up is trying to end. Don't just use it as an excuse because our fave is involved. She should be held accountable as well, especially since she, who makes 250 million dollars, has nothing to lose and an up and coming actress or star, as she once was, has everything to lose. Really?
