Ricardo 8,214
it's really obvious that they cut the production because of the new iphones coming this fall... what would be the point of having an older generation full size phone if their intent is to sell the new one, that probably will came in 3 versiones. The iphone 8 will remain selling obviously at a cheaper price
BenG 19,908
The iPhone X was more for Apple to test the market. The 8 and 8 Plus will serve as the previous generation iPhones, with an updated SE as the entry-level iPhone.

If they are not ready they better postpone it. Feels like this rush release gig mess Apple so much over the past few years. Phone is a outward signs of wealth and even if they're not wealthy some people want to look so. That's very shallow but it has always been like that and it will never change (even more since the social media appeared and everything is about what you show). But there are also less shallow reasons, people are interessed in the latest technology and want to try it, developper need them to test their apps live, etc. Also the only reason we're not having bricks in your hand is because people are ready to pay for the innovation (may it be for shallow reasons or not) so let's not be too judgy too fast. Without them you wouldn't have a less expensive "good phone" Or people use it for Apple music and a decent camera. Plus Apple products are always on the top of lists for customer satisfaction. BenG 19,908
Discounting the current iPhone X is the logical decision. Rich people will buy the refreshed iPhone X. Less rich people will buy the iPhone 8/8 Plus. Entry-level will go for (refreshed) SE.

Get a goor smartphone and use balance money for something actually worth. Or just spend it on poor people. We all want the newest best thing. It's human nature. I would rather have one expensive phone than loads of other little things.
ferretti 5,808
Forbes tech articles (and most articles) are generally clickbait trash. The only thing that would cause Apple to cancel the wildly popular iPhone X is it’s replacement. https://daringfireball.net/2018/01/iphone_x_one_year disco stick tester, inquire within
CatelynnMarie 4,556
Wasn't the iPhone X supposed to be sort of like, a test/ release as an ode to the 10th anniversary of the OG iPhone anyway? I'm not sure why it's such a big deal. Especially since pretty much all service providers have that "upgrade to a new iPhone every year" deal now where people will upgrade to the newest model (which a lot of people seem to have). If anything, Apple is making a smart business move judging by that alone. These articles I swear lol
