It was a fully immersive, terrifying experience! Nolan did a great job putting the audience right beside the soldiers, and making you feel like you were on the beach with them.

I think Jennifer Lawrence should have had a nom for mother!, she gave it her all.

Also, I think Get Out is reeeeally overrated... I did enjoy it, and I understand the relevance of it in our day & age, but I'm having a hard time grasping how great it allegedly is as a piece of filmmaking.

I know.... and people are kinda pissed about it. It just goes to show how polarizing that movie was - would have loved to see it also represented on the positive spectrum at the Oscars, 'cause there were as many lovers as haters in this case. There was a lot of buzz around it back in September, but it didn't last up until awards season, unfortunately.

If you ask me, I believe this is one of the few 2017 movies that has actually the potential to achieve cult status in a few years time. Along with Get Out, probably.

I agree about J-Law. I think she's usually one-note and shallow in her choices, but she knocked me out in mother!  However, that category was stacked this year :( Needless to say, I think the movie itself is a masterpiece

As for Get Out, I was thoroughly impressed that not only did it work marvelously as a psychological thriller, but as a dark comedy and social commentary. Not an easy feat. Very much our generation's Stepford Wives, but even better than that.
