The adoption was symbolical, and its more of a daughter of his youtube career, he discovered this singer girl (who is super cute and super talented) and decided to showcase her and help her grow, she got like over a 100k subscribers and still rising after the video.

He did something similar with a lil boy like a month ago, through some sort of a "adopt for a day" service, the kid lost his dad, so shane brought him to take him to places and give him a lot of gifts.

Parents were present in both cases.

The accuser is hanging from these 2 stories to push the accusation further.
