James Franco sexual assault allegations

Like many of his peers, Golden Globes Best Actor winner James Franco turned up to the ceremony Sunday night wearing a Time’s Up pin in support of the night’s anti-sexual-misconduct message. Actress Ally Sheedy, however, found the actor’s mere presence at the event, much less his win, upsetting enough to comment on.

“James Franco just won. Please never ask me why I left the film/TV business,” the Breakfast Club actress lamented in a series of since-deleted tweets, a screenshot of which you can read below.

Franco once directed Sheedy in an Off Broadway production of The Long Shrift, but there is no indication her statement is connected to that experience. The Cut has reached out to the actress for clarification, which, if provided, will also be added to this post.

Others on Twitter found themselves discussing a different Franco-related topic, specifically the actor’s attempt to get with a 17-year-old via social media. In the widely reported 2014 story, the same year he directed Sheedy, Franco contacted the teen through Instagram after meeting her outside his Broadway show Of Mice and Men. He allegedly offered to rent a room to spend time with the “almost” 18-year-old, who later published their exchange online.

I mean, the 17 year old thing is not sexual assault.... I’ve had relationships with men when I was 16 and they were under consent. So...

Its still illegal at least in Pennsylvania. They can only be 4 years older than you at most from 16-17.

This has been the only allegation I haven't been able to be 100% behind because of the "blindgossip" bs story that idiots clinged on for months until this (completely unrelated) story came out. People only rolled with this story because they thought he always "looked creepy". Sheedy seriously cannot tweet something so vague that insinuates sexual assault and not actually confirm wtf happened. That tweet could literally just be her not liking him as an actor and may likely be the reason since she deleted the tweets after people believed sexual assault is what she meant. As for that other girl, she failed to mention they were in a relationship at the time. Just makes her story questionable when so many just tweet in defense of something for retweets.

TLDR: 1) Enough with the blindgossip- they are not real and are meant to point to a specific person before they're even written. 2) Don't tweet something that may insinuate sexual assault and not clarify.

TSUNAMI

How is someone in position to see James Francos bare **** without signs beforehead?

Like they were just talking and he just took his penis out?

I doubt this.

Okay, it might be illegal but does it make it sexual assault? Like, is it the same as someone forcing themselves upon somebody? I dont know the full story so I might be wrong, but we cant just get carried away and point everything as sexual assault.

Another day, another thread full of rape apologists on GGD.

This doesn't surprise me... I always got a very creepy vibe from him.

...what even is this post supposed to say, I don't get it. That anybody above 16 can't get sexually assaulted or what?
