How is brown face NOT racism? Please, enlighten me because I honestly do not understand you

Racism definition: “Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.”

Painting a white person’s face brown for a movie role is not saying that white race people are superior to brown race people at all. For racism you have to distinguish white agains brown or brown against white. Not the case.

It's not racism, but it surely is poor casting done by Disney. And many should get behind that. That's the central idea behind this after all.

Disney could’ve had hired people of color, sure! But I don’t know the details. Maybe they were in a hurry... I don’t know and I don’t care. If a straight man plays a gay role I don’t feel discriminated at all. It’s about not giving a damn about every little thing! If Disney said we don’t hire people of color beceaus they are not good enough. Than sure it was racism and I get the commotion. But right now, with just a handful people I don’t see the problem at all.

:sharon:Anyways, i've never called you a racist but if the shoes fits well....You dont need to be a sjw to know about sistematic racism in society and the fact that you are here sceaming your white feelings instead of listening and understand the problem says a lot, also you can keep calling us oversensitive and sh*t, however you are the one here defending racist acts with stupid arguments because your white frigility cant handle FACTS about your priviliges in society and like a said before you have absotuletly no right to tell poc what racism is and what its not.

Making a handful of actors a bit more brown isn't racist.

Imagine if you were told to do a presentation, dance, performance, in which you need to represent the Middle Eastern culture. If darkening your skin was something you did for it, then that's a problem, cause there's no need to represent a culture by darkening your skin because that's not necessary at all and is racist.

Now, when they're making a movie, where its supposed to be set on an specific region, where the actors are supposed to look from where the movie is supposed to happen, then really i don't see it as problematic, though it's really not very acceptable when they could have hired an specific type of people.
