Will Gaga ever be a streaming force?

Do you think she ever will?

I would love to see her as a streaming force, and I personally think she can do it if her team knows how to play the streaming game.

We all know she can sell albums and singles no problem... It's just her streaming that is weak right now. I also believe that if she ups her streaming game it would open her up to a younger audience, and can potentially spawn another hit.

Just a thought:derpga:

do we? :derpga:

OT: tbh it's all about the music. She needs to get her sh** together again, create music that is worthy of streaming, and THEN maybe yes... with a couple of videos and cool project, ofcourse she could be on top of the pop game again.

OT: What she needs is radio payola :trollga:

You got it backwards. The younger audience is what makes a streaming hit. So basically Gaga simply needs a more radio friendly song that appeals to many people. The problem with Gaga is not that she is releasing bad music, what is blocking her from big hits is that her music is not trendy or maybe relatable to many people.

The Cure went Platinum with zero promo and Million Reasons went Platinum pure sales.

I'd say we do.

Maybe? Who knows tbh. She needs a more Latin/urban sound for her next album ala Dancing In Circles.

Don't think so. There are many songs on top of streaming that aren't relatable to young people. Million Reasons is very relatable, I just don't think her team did that great of a job promoting it on streaming platforms.

I don't believe its just young people who make a hit. It has a lot to do with the marketing and the team behind the song. A lot of people just go on Spotify and click shuffle on the top 50 because they don't know what to listen to, and want to hear random songs. If her songs were just placed better on the platform or came more frequently, she would get a lot of new listeners. People don't go into Spotify and specifically look for a song that they like, they usually just pick a playlist and put it on shuffle.

There is an element of strategy to help boost streams, but in general the younger audience are the people who stream the most. Promo will only get you do far. And Million Reasons is relatable but not trendy.

Yes. MR has like 200m streams and it never got the playlist treatment all other streaming smashes and even nobodys get so it still did good. Also the cure got the same streams with no video and no promo from gaga at all (until 9months later). There is still hope for gaga to have a huge streaming hit and become a streaming force. The song just needs to be somewhat trendy (like the cure) and relatable along with nicely done promo from gagas team and herself.

If only MR had the spotify promo from insterscope that the cure had it would have like 500m streams by now. It never was featured in TTH (spotifys biggest playlist) while other songs can spend almost a year there and the cure that wasn't really pushed from gaga was still there for 2 months. It's interscopes own fault that MR never became a streaming hit and only a sales hit.

There was a time when she didn't sell albums and singles as well. :trollga: She just need some hits to be a streaming force.
