Might be true. So why would I want to go to see her tour when her recent performances are not a representation of her artistry
ProdigyARTPOP 3,910
I love how she’s going through Gaga went through during ARTPOP critique wise (this is sarcasm) , her dates are doing well and obviously they’re not selling out they’re stadium dates and the approach to selling them out is different, as is the marketing strategy, that her, her tour promoters, and Ticketmaster are using

Not everyone who will attend her tour has seen these performances. Do you think people decide whether to see an artist live based on recent performances alone? A great chunk of her concert attendance is going to be the GP, and I doubt they keep track of her every move and performance.
sethrb101 4,523
Oof, Taylor Her tickets STAY overpriced, honestly. She’s an excellent performer, but no one is worth that much. She needs to take a step back

So insulting to her actual fans that want to see her and not sell a kidney for a ticket. It's what she deserves. "so insulting" to her fans that the same amount of money they would have paid to scalpers who would have taken a good majority of the tickets will now go directly to the person they're paying to see. It makes sense why they were cheap at presale, went up as demand was at its peak and will potentially get discounted before the shows start. And I'd rather pay more to the artist than to people reselling tickets. OT: Watch her outgross Madonna with her flop Reputation tour

scallywally 626
She upped her prices to the same as Madonnas. I doubt she would be a part of the pricing or even in the meetings. They scalped the scalpers.
StrawberryBlond 14,880
She's not flopping but no doubt the high prices are keeping her shows being instant sellouts, regardless of what the ticketing strategy is. Her prices are atrocious, around $500 for a floor seat. Unsurprisingly, a lot of young fans are going to have parents who will baulk at that. I know mine sure would. Her entire strategy this era has favoured rich fans over poor fans and it really sucks. Not to mention, because it's a stadium tour, dates are extremely limited meaning a lot of fans will have to travel miles, meaning that travel and accommodation will also have to be added to their overall tally. When all is said and done, some will have to spend near enough $1000 to see this show. And that's just one ticket. Woe betide those who have to be accompanied by an adult who has to pay the same amount. It all works out to the price of a good holiday for a lot of people! And sorry, I just don't think her performance abilities are good enough to warrant these prices. 2 hours ago, Illuminati said: "so insulting" to her fans that the same amount of money they would have paid to scalpers who would have taken a good majority of the tickets will now go directly to the person they're paying to see. But the point is that the majority of fans can't afford the jacked up prices scalpers ask for. Some are even morally opposed to accepting tickets from scalpers. I know I would be. Whether you're paying it to a scalper or paying it to an official ticketseller, it's still the same money. Which most of us can't afford. Way too much of a generalisation there. Which most of us can't afford. Way too much of a generalisation there. And that's why she opted for the better option of the two. Rather than allowing scalpers to buy the majority of cheap tickets and profit off of them she made them less profitable by increasing the prices. If you don't have the money you wouldn't buy it anyway but if you did you wouldn't have to think twice whether you want to support scalpers because they wouldn't be involved. NIghtmareElm 2,606
Even if tickets were cheaper than this, scalpers would have made their prices just as expensive or even more. I wanted to go see Bruno Mars but only resale tickets were left or scalper tickets. The cheapest I found was over $200 and that was for nose bleed seats. It is possible Taylor is going to use huge expensive production. Slow ticketing is the best way to keep tickets out of scalpers. Also stadium tours are more expensive no matter what.
