What about all of the illegal settlements in the west bank? can you Explain that?

Yeah and thats why I think that Palestine should give up and accept that they should share the land that was once theirs and give up on this stupid dream to kick Israel out.

I am personally against the settlements and so are at least half of the Israelis (if you want to include Israeli Arabs, we are the majority)

Vast majority of Israelis accept the two state solution, while settlers are trying to make it impossible by building more and more.

There are some big Israeli settlements in the West Bank which Israel cannot leave, but the small ones will be destroyed and the settlers will be returned to Israel.

My best advice as a rational Israeli to the Palestinians is RETURN TO PEACE TALKS, recognize Israel as a Jewish state, agree to receive 99% of the West Bank and accept Israel's need for security. This situation isn't helping their cause, at all. This could all be over long ago.

Israel won't go anywhere... Fighting it is irrational.

I 100% agree with you. But just put yourself in their shoes, why would they accept defeat? They just came and stole their lands.

By the way you guys are completely ignoring the Palestinian side to the conflict. It's not nice, not peaceful. In fact, killed and kills many Israelis just for being Jewish.

Israel is a democracy. More terror = less trust, more right wing Israelis. More rightist Israelis, a more rightist government.

Israel went full left in the 90s, Rabin pushed for the Oslo Accords and the Palestinian Authority was formed. In response, Palestinians launched two Intifadas (uprisings) against Jews and killed more than 1,500 Israelis, mostly civilians. That's why most Israelis are so right wing nowadays. They don't trust Palestinians, don't think they wan't peace.

The "stole their land" narrative is completely false and irrelevant. All countries today are results of conflicts.

Israel was supposed to be way smaller than what it is, this is the 47 plan Israel agreed on: israel04.jpg

The war started by Arab nations and won by Israel is the reason it is bigger and more contagious today.

I do believe people should accept defeats, especially if they tried so many times and always failed. It means their direction isn't working and they need to find a new one.

I wouldn't accept an occupation if I was in their shoes. But I don't believe in violence or wanting to completely destroy a nation, I'm also not delusional to think they will ever be stronger than Israel. I hope I would be a rational Palestinian who believes in two states and having peace.

This is what Israeli society experienced between 1990 to 2005

Stan Twitter and many on GagaDaily don't care about violence and deaths when it's Jews who are the victims. I find it sad.

Check out this thread:

"Since arabs invaded Egypt , we became retarded.

also every egyptian have the pride of 7000 years we had the blah blah blah ,while actually not doing anything to fix this mess , and thinking inside the box"

Even he admits Egypt is a result of Arab occupation, and it's completely backwards and primitive ever since then.

Israel has Jewish history, Egypt has Egyptian history, erased by Arab conquests.

Facts don't care about your feelings. xoxo <3

I know this has really turned into a more political debate than one about Lorde, but I think the bottom line is: Lorde is refusing to perform in Israel but will be performing twice in Putin's Russia, where gay men are being persecuted and murdered in certain regions (among other human rights crises). Just odd what she picks and chooses to be outraged about, or perhaps two shows in Russia offers her more economic opportunity than one show in Israel. She's not really a "woke queen", she just kind of had a lightened consciousness then hit the 'snooze' button...

I doubt Lorde is extensively knowledgeable on this topic or has a clear stance. She’s just trying to avoid backlash. Now she has backlash from another side. The artist can’t win when it comes to the Israel/Palestine conflict.

As for her performing in other problematic countries.... they aren’t as controversial as Israel/Palestine. It’s the one topic that literally never ends in a healthy discussion.

Yeah but it’s only not controversial because no one cares about Russia killing gays or Syrians. It’s kinda sad.

THIS! Thank you.

Can we talk about Gaga being an amazing artist that performed in both Israel and Russia and challenged human rights violations and advocated for gay rights. Remember the "CUFF ME RUSSIA"?

She wanted to perform in Jakarta even though Indonesia is very primitive, but she wanted to do it to empower gay people.

Gaga performed in Israel during a war with Hamas, when other artists cancelled. She came for her fans and wasn't afraid of any backlash or wars. I LOVE HER SO MUCH! btw Gaga came TWICE to Israel and Tony even joined her.

Did the world collapse? Do people hate her for that? Is anyone going to drop his stan card now? Nah. Lorde is just weak, ignorant, pathetic. She betrayed all of her Israeli fans and it's the most disgusting thing she could do.

Except this works on the basis that Lorde herself is managing her tour and picking the cities that she's performing in.

Someone on Lorde's tour team organised a show in Israel. Lorde announced it. There was backlash. Lorde's team decided it was bad publicity and it would be better to pull out of the show all together. That's like... literally it.

Is this a reason to stan her for? If she was woke and aware she would know tweeting about performing in Israel would cause backlash, she could either do it quietly or not care about what people say.

I wouldn't judge her if she didn't come altogether but she announced two dates in RUSSIA and one in Tel Aviv IN THE SAME TWEET. Of course Russia doesn't ignite backlash (which is hypocrite) but Lorde clearly doesn't know (/and) or care about violations of human rights by Israel OR Russia.

Gaga wasn't afraid to be a gay icon and make a #1 hit for the LGBTQ community, she wasn't afraid to speak up against Don't Ask Don't Tell, challenge Russian government, endorse Hilary. This is a real woman I would stan, a woman that isn't afraid of comments from primitive, hateful people. Lorde is a joke, so is her music. A one hit wonder and that one hit is overrated and lame af.

Many Israelis actually believe she couldn't sell tickets so cancelling it with some PR is the best solution. She was supposed to perform in front of 4k people only, that's low af (Gaga-30k, Britney-60k, Bieber-60k).

Her music was never big here.

The 'woke queen' comments were in reference to statements made in this thread. Regardless, the backlash was rooted in political discourse and, thus, cancelling the show plays into that. Lorde admits in her letter to Israel she has done a lot of reading on the topic, agreed to a show in Tel Aviv, only to do further reading and 'admit she made the wrong decision' to play there. Her comments pretty clearly state her reasons to reversing her decision was political or morally driven. So I think it's fair to question why she is continuing to hold shows in other parts of the world with discourse and human rights issues, such as Russia.
