Was there a 2013 smear campaign against Gaga?

*** this is for all of you conspiracy theorist

I know this sounds ridiculous but I have been looking at a lot of Gaga's 2013 interviews and something seems off....

Watch this interview from The Guardian:

Every time Gaga said something, they would randomly overlay footage that attempted to discredit what she said.

I have found a lot of interviews doing similar things where they try and paint Lady Gaga in a negative way.

Anybody else think this is weird? She didn't get radio support.... the media turned on her... her entire team abandoned her.

Also, I know this has probably been discussed a lot over the last few years (so forgive me.... but also sorry not sorry) but I want to hear CONSPIRACIES. I think there was somebody really powerful in the industry that purposefully tried to destroy her career.

Yes.  That was a time when it was deemed cool to hate on Gaga.  Critics and journalists jumped on the bandwagon because it made them look smart to give their readers what they were looking for ... hate for Gaga.    It steamrolled, and it was all made up.  Gaga did nothing to deserve it.  Her words were twisted and taken out of context, and nobody cared.

I don't know if it was a calculated campaign but I don't think I read one article during 2013-2014 where Gaga wasn't either dragged in it or at the very best just given a back-handed compliment. She couldn't be mentioned without there also being a mention of her "downfall". It was very frustrating. It's crazy how the media loves her now and she's only covered positively. Sure I see a back-handed compliment every now and then from articles by Billboard especially but it's no where near as bad. I would get so mad back then.

Gaga should be like :classy:

They should wear ear condoms on ASIB premiere.

I mean, she should make it like gifts for cinemas.

It would be kkkkkkkk :gaysia::gaysia::gaysia::gaysia:

Troy Carter, notice how Meghan vanished after he left her ?

That man is horrible. There's a special place in hell for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he blacklisted her from certain close connections of his. There's so many things that went on behind the scenes that she only touched on the surface. I hope one day we hear everything. I'm sure we should all be more surprised that she's at the state in her career she is in now after 2013.

THIS. Clearly someone or something was intentionally out there trying to push her around and demean her. It was so frustrating and upsetting. The people who stood by her were ridiculed and so many people left because it wasn't cool to be a Gaga fan anymore. But because somebody powerful was out there in charge of all of this, like you said, nobody cared. People just ignored it and let her image slide.

On an unrelated note, can we talk about he ARTPOP release party? It looks like it was one huge unorganized mess. It felt like she was either rushed or she had to take care of all the plans on her own. She had no makeup and a messy wig. Something about that party always makes me uneasy.

100% agree. It really shows her professionalism in that she hasn't spoken out about it to smear them for what they did. She is getting the last laugh now instead of getting petty revenge. It's sh*tty she had do so much to prove herself as an artist, but she has gone above and beyond and shown just how much she deserves that legend status she has now. I think it will definitely come out one day, but I doubt she will waste time talking about it. Too busy making coins in Vegas and on a sold out tour, filming movies, recording bops and winning awards :classy:

Unfortunately, no. But watching the livestream/the VEVO Presents, something doesn’t seem right. It feels like she went through a lot of stress and fighting and she found happiness in her fans that night.

I hope one day she makes an autobiography and talks in great detail about the ARTPOP era.

I mean the fascinating thing about what happened is that she literally predicted it in the Paparazzi video. Because it's so typical for powerful women in the industry to be demeaned by ***hole men who feel threatened by their presence.

This.

It took a long time for her to recover.  The 30 days starting February 8, 2015 was a positive turning point.

That month was huge for her. Her performance at the Oscars was literally such a pivotal career moment for her. As soon as the world FINALLY realized she was talented and not just a gimmick it happened. Even though we had been KNEW her talent was majorly slept on until then. Basically when the industry got an interest in her again, was when her career was reinvented, when Joanne smashed and she landed the Superbowl and so on.
