ARTPOP's concept was very clear. It was about combining artistic conception with pop music (though I personally think she wanted to go down a more experimental route with the music itself but was unable to for reasons).

To compare any of Taylor Swift's albums with ARTPOP would be a joke. Taylor just sings about boys and living in the 1980s. At least Gaga has always had concept.

No it was just a superficial concept that was not well thought or portrayed in the album.It was fake artsy stuff.

The music should be able to speak for itself and as far as the songwriting&productions go,pretty much every Taylor album is above ARTPOP..The fact that Taylor doesn't try to make her music appear like something bigger than it is shouldn't be a negative thing.

I do give ARTPOP some credit for being a really fun album + having some great songs

There's nothing wrong with being a fun pop singer, but to compare something as conceptually intellectual as ARTPOP is dumb. I never said the music was conceptual. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it was worse than The Fame in terms of songwriting relevance (at least songs like Paparazzi had a lot of meaning to them), but in terms of concept, ARTPOP was something that had never been done before.

The album is selling well because her marketing team made this genius idea of making them buy the album first before they can purchase tickets and it obviously worked. And the singles are falling because its proof that her recent songs aren't that good.

Not really though.

The singles will rebound quick with a video. This happens every Taylor album and I don’t see that changing this time around.

But no offence it wasn’t really done. It’s a great album, but the concept isn’t there. It was described as that but IMO it didn’t come through.
