Economy 49,829
If by basic u mean generic that makes sense generic can appeal to many people specific styles of art and music appeal to specific groups of people most people wouldnt label top 40 their fav music or artists but its the genre the largest amount of people agree to at least like/tolerate and a few like any other genre legit love top 40 too! Clarence 1,444
the GP is basic asf and thinks everything is weird. any slight originality in your music is "weird", if you feel your music and dance to it like Lorde you're "weird", and any sign of a personality in your performance is "weird". Spoiler guess that's why the chainsmokers are doing so well
juju 18,907
this entire thread..... the answer is: things that appeal to a wider range of people are typically what's consumed quicker and more often, and therefore, music trends that prove popular tend to be labeled as "basic" because most people can enjoy them without a second thought, i.e. it's easy to be consumed/has little to no pretense that requires outside thinking and philophosizing, that they can remain complacent and carry on about their lives without actually engaging with the art. And that's honestly that. ❤ x ❤
