According to one poll, 78% Americans, regardless of political affiliation, disapprove of it. I do not know if the House blocked the taxation on tuition waivers. Would really hope because that's a despicable way to overcome the reduction of corporate tax from 35% to 21%. It's not like many US students go to grad school already. The Republicans (politicians) also say that this bill is supposed to "pay for itself" because apparently the reduction will improve the economy increasing the amount of taxable dollars, therefore countering the tax reduction for the government. Problem is, they gave no evidence or statistical models to back it up. We have them saying it'll make it better and one expert prediction that it will increase $1 trillion in tax deficit... DeleteMyAccount 11,881
The bill expects big business to invest in workers and the American people. Good luck with that.
Emvee 8,826
When the consequences of this bill ravages the middle class, the right will blame immigrants, gays, and Muslims.

It wouldnt cause a recession actually the over-all impact of the tax changes i think would be positive to the economy... its just that its going to raise the deficit a lot for only a modest improvement If the tax cuts had been more broad rather than just big Corporate tax cuts and fewer tax cuts for middle class for the same cost youd get more economic benefit Corporate tax cuts still help the economy by helping stocks and in turn peoples savings and RSPS, attracting more forein investment and increasing entreprenership... But for Companies to want to use extra cash to grow companies and create jobs in the process demand also needs to grow and for that, people need to have more disposable income Again its not that over-all this will hurt the economy... its that the benefit will be very small the way they did this so not worth the cost The biggest beneficiaries will be equity holders
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Mess. The more immediate effect will look positive to some people, but in a decade it will be a net loss to the average American (so to speak), and really there's still no reason for this tax bill other than to save money for the already wealthy. Just wait for them to announce cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
Woolfsmck 2,763
I'm gonna wait and see. What the big corps do with the windfall. See most manufacturing is automated, I would think that tech companies will get a bump. Also removing the health insurance mandate is good on the surface but to have an effective system, there needs to be a broader funding method. It looks like only elete earners can afford to go to the doctor. The culture of hiding profits off shore needs to change as well, so the lower tax rate may encourage reinvestement rather than relocate.. I would like to see some wage earners statistics before and after to see if the extra money really "trickles down"....it hasn't really worked that way in the past. like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. Lower taxes can help a little with offshoring and maybe attract a few companies But the biggest job creation comes from small business start-ups and expansion of existing ones I dont know every detail of this tax change but small business tax wasnt cut much was it? So not much help with start-ups Existing companies? They have lots of cash, record amounts. Money isnt the issue. To expand they need demand. For that you need middle tax cuts to give people more disposable income Increased forein investment and more capital will certainly help as will peoples better performing RSPs In the short term the ability to put all expansion costs up front in 1 year for tax purposes may also help business investment in short term but that aspect of the tax reform is temporary i believe. It will help the economy but not as much as if middle class got some more of the tax cuts as well Also this will add a lot to the deficit. What Trump says about the tax cuts paying for themselves with economic growth is non-sense because the ripple effect from tax cuts on GDP would have to be massively huge in order for this to be revenue neutral! Theres no way thats happening and most experts agree Also any improvements that do occur in economy from tax cuts will largely be offset by the higher interest rates on debt that come with economic growth... just sayin 👀
