yep,  good points.   You can say though that the indies have avenues to release their music like never before i.e.  via social media, but the space is so crowded that it is hard to be heard through the noise.

are you guys really finding a fault in "Independent Artists"? You should be blaming the major labels and their inability to conform to changes in the industry and the ever changing business models they've got going on.  

It's because of that, that many artists nowadays are going independent.

Because then you get people like 5th Harmony or older groups like TLC who weren't seeing any profit from their album/tour sales

people seem to  forget that this residency will be happening from dec 2018 to dec 2020. She has all the time in 2018 to make new album and she will definitely release it before vegas starts plus she will have time to hole up djws in her basement for 2 yrs after that and come up with LG7 by the next election season... a win win.

Shell need to be on her was to Vegas around Aug so she does have a good few months! i guess movie re shoots if there are any and press junkets might take up time, magazine interviews and covers. But she works hard. Its doable. It would mean no tour extension though. There wouldn't be time to do all that and plan singles, covers, videos ect. Time flies by.

She ends the European leg in February, so she has like March-August. September-November she has ASIB promo and Vegas rehearsals.  She wanted a rest... so, I really doubt she can have a decent rest, write and record the album, artwork, video, promo... I can't see all this happening.

She has said she works on her album during her tour  whenever she has downtime and flies in the cowriters and other collaborators as needed.

I’m pretty sure they’re not paying her 100 million dollars to do a generic vegas residency. That check alone should tell you that this is most likely going to be a game changing residency, that’s a lot of money and they are counting on her and her ability to entertain and not conform to standards and push the limits. Vegas is obviously trying to change their imagine that’s why they’re bringing all these new stars, it’s most likely also because the demographic that goes to Vegas has changed to a much younger one in the past few years and yes, that could also be because of Britney’s residency which that in itself was game changing because she was extremely relevant when she started hers, her past era was a HIT and Work Bitch was shaping up to be a hit as well, what went wrong was the lack of promotion afterwards, so that’s on Britney and her team not Vegas. They saw though the potential and are now trying to bring artists like Gaga and Bruno, even more relevant stars to change the preception the public has of what Vegas is. Gaga will put on an incredible show, I just know it. I also feel like LG6 might start either in the upcoming months, either right before the residency starts to build hype around it and we all know our girl is extremely hungry to have a mainstream hit era again. You guys keep on saying you don’t see the fire anymore, but I do, it’s still there she’s just smart. If fire to you means high fashion outfits, 20 inch heels and controversial videos, then I’m sorry for you but that’s not fire, fire is her being smart with her career and calculating EVERY single move after what happened with ARTPOP. Cheek to Cheek? Hit. 1st Oscar performance? Hit. 2015 Grammys? Hit. AHS? Hit. TIHTY? Hit. 2th Oscar performance? Hit. Joanne era? A ****ing HIT. Getting back into the graces of the GP was what she had to do, she had to put aside the so called ‘gimmicks’ ( which to me she never was a try hard or a gimmick, I understood everything she did ) and show that is is actually talented because even though we knew, the GP didn’t necesarelly. So ya’ll THINK FOR A SECOND that after ALL that hustle to get back on top she’s gonna throw away the potential of her having a long career into the mainstream eye on a 100 million dollars? Yeah, that’s a lot of money, but she can make that somehow else. So no, this is not about the money, this is just another strategic move, Vegas residencies will become the next trend, watch Katy and Rihanna get one next and all she wants to do is be a pioneer in that as well. I think she, Carino and Bobby are ****ing geniuses!
