Gaga confirms Vegas residency

Keep in mind that Britney Spears was stuck in Vegas for a year because she was the very first, believe it or not, big pop superstar to have a huge contract in Vegas. She had nothing to do with the negotiations, and was only allowed to do performances from the AXS Theater.

Lady Gaga, on the other hand, had her contract handled by her ****ing fiance. You guys really think that she will be "chained to Vegas" when her future husband was the one who negotiated the contract? If Jay Z was a talent manager, do you really think he would leave his wife in Vegas for 2 years? Hell no!

This is nothing but a beneficial endeavor for our girl, and you guys should be happy for her. Also, if Piece of Me was able to go and tour around the world, what would stop Gaga from taking the residency worldwide? Considering she is one of the only pop stars who has a huge grasp on her own career, I wouldn't be surprised if she would be able to tour around the world.

Britney wasn't the first to have a huge contract with Vegas. Vegas has a long history of having stars going there. Celine, Mariah, Cher were all there before her. 

As for her fiance, having someone who has a personal and intimate relationship with you dealing with your business is not always wise. What may seem a good personal move isn't normally a good professional one. He could have had has his main interest having Gaga close to him and her LA home, but that won't translate well into her career.

Going to Vegas is for fading stars, and Gaga has officially signed herself up as one.

Britney got her contract in her second reemergence, when she was getting hit singles off of Femme Fatale. She was the first huge star to get a contract. She was in a really good state of career. The reason she fell off was because of a poor team backing her, and some records that were less than inspired. 

It will most definitely translate well to her career, as well. She has a life to look forward to. Children, a husband, and a family that is still alive and kicking. She has a disease that can prevent her from possibly living her dream of doing much more than just music. She needs a break from her constant schedule, considering her entire career has consisted of a constant flow of work with about a month or two break in between. 

Finally, going to Vegas is not for fading stars. Justin Timberlake, Adele, and Bruno Mars are all huge names in entertainment.

Bruno had a residency that coexisted with his tour, and has done shows there regularly.
Adele is arguably the most successful musician in years, at least in terms of pure record sales, and is on track for having her own residency.
Finally, Justin Timberlake is the next SuperBowl headliner, and is on track to have a residency as well.

Once again, your justification for this residency being a bad idea is nothing short of paranoia and proves that you are simply ignorant on the topic.

Britney had -- that's the answer for you. Flop after flop since then. Gaga at the moment doesn't even have #1 hit singles, so that cannot even be said about her.

Gaga is not packing stadiums, but arenas, and this is primarily in the US because of the SuperBowl boost, which will have no impact in the future.

Bruno is just there for a handful of shows and not for 2 years.

The Joanne World Tour hit several sold out stadiums all throughout the US.

Did you notice that eveything you said isn't even confirmed. JT and Adele are almost certainly not going to Vegas to rot there. Everyone knows this is the worst move for a pop musician -- it is the same as saying 'I'm done and retiring'.

Bruno isn't doing a residency, but just doing a few shows there as part of his tour -- completely different.

This is not paranoia, but I guess time will tell.

Britneys career tanked because she had a bad contract negotiated for by people who run her life for their own financial gain without thought given to Britney. She wasn’t allowed to promote or release under her first Vegas contract, it killed her career. Gaga obviously doesn’t have the same kind of deal with a movie and soundtrack release slated for next spring. Don’t talk about things you don’t understand, you’re embarrassing yourself  

Whether it’s 2 or 200 stadiums in the US the point still stands that Gaga is a stadium act here. A stadium act who signed a $100m deal for barely working a few nights a week. You and everybody you know combined could never relate xx

This is perfect! Because A Star is Born will most likely be the craze next yr, some time to write new music. Plan for shows in Last Vegas! My brother will be living there by then as well. WOW I am beyond excited for her! SO fast baby! 

Tbh though THANK GOD she hasnt sold out to..... the voice... or dancing with the stars....or some lame show to help others' talents. but the open door to have other musicians come and sing with her! PERFECT
