i meant her image as an artist as viewed by other people, not her image by petty stan twitter who are saying "oh she has a vegas residency 10 years into her career~!!111!! flop!!!!!!!"

in a sense, what im trying to say is that her image is better than ever so now people RESPECT her music and what she puts out, so now people are on edge waiting for her new music and have her in the back of their minds. with a vegas residency, im sure any new music planned or touring of the rest of the world and all that is going to be slowed down tremendously.

Someone on here said a month or two ago (in the context of Britney Spears) that Vegas residencies were no longer for has-beens (with apologies to Cher and Bette Midler) but are now a way to solidify your career and make a lot of money while doing it.

Its just sad that after a really successful year of being on top of the world again, she's going to waste all that potential (yet again) by doing some unnecessary side project, this time in Vegas. Why make the quick buck in Vegas when she could be cementing her legacy by getting another smash song to keep her relevant before the decade ends. 

Its like her team have forgotten that while Joanne was a success in the US, it was a total nonevent elsewhere. She's been absent from British music since The Edge of Glory. She feels more like Jessie J at the minute over here... big success years ago but has slowly let herself fade...

she's not going to lose that success, she has a movie coming and now she'll have a live show whilst the album is being made  

i don't understand how a live show will stop her from getting a hit again? she either stays in the spotlight or goes back to instagram whilst she makes LG6

Seriously, these Vegas threads have just been proving to me yet again how stupid Stan culture is and how contrary to the actual artist it claims to support it is.  Stans support artists on their own terms, not the artists.   Its sick and toxic.
