Being in one place actually does slow down a lot, because she can't progress and promote anything she puts out if she wants to. If it's the rumored 50 dates, and Gaga performs every other day as she's doing with JWT presumably for her hip, that's almost 4 months. Realistically, she won't even do that cause that would break her even harder. The album doesn't have a set deadline, anything can influence. Im just sad that Gaga NEVER is an opportunist. Ever. The only time she came close to being one was with The Cure and of course there was no promo or even a video. The huge radio support it got was is so sad to see now, seeing how she treated the single. This is only going to even further ruin her grand comeback, which I'm sure the Haus has been preparing since the SB. I wouldn't think so if she didn't perform so randomly at the AMAs. Those kind of stuff do really make you think "oh so they're trying to keep her name in the public image" but then again she signs a residency deal for at least 4 months. Hmm. your analysis is so accurate when I think about it. Gaga never was an opportunist, she had so many occasions to trigger bunch of things at the same time a la Taylor Swift, but didn't. Maybe she doesn't have that smart quick commercial instinct ... It's unfortunate

Normal tour shows make 1-1.5M with an unknown percentage going to her. True, but then you also have to consider the personal cost of a residency. For example, I imagine she'll be renting a house for the 2 year period, which could add up to hundreds of thousands.

Guest
Good im glad should be a interesting set list and its something new and i think the 'has been' stigma is over dramatic and ridiculous. Plenty of her contempararies have done a residency whether it be a few shows or a couple years. Shes making bank idk what the problem is with the small amount of you not being happy for her. SlaeUrAnus 15,970
People are assuming that Las Vegas residencies are for has-beens and fads. Whilst that may be somewhat true to some extent, Gaga will (I'll be very surprised if she doesn't) debut new music and looks. She's not going to do a Brit and perform the same songs with no new material. In my messy era.

Clearly you weren't here when Venus was planned as a single and DWUW hit iTunes as a promo single And pretty much the exact same thing happened with Million Reasons and The Edge of Glory Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺

Its not that rocket science. If she continues to do these shanaigans she will fade into irrelevancy worldwide. How does it not make sense, she spoke about it in an interview with Tony Bennett?? You guys want her to be like Katy Perry or Ariana Grande where they release trendy pop music and do what pop stars nowadays do. Shes not that anymore, she’s paid her dues, she can do whatever she pleases now, she knows that she has the demographic in her hands that will buy her albums and go see her concerts, the rest of it is irrelevant. She’s not the same Gaga of 2010 and that’s okay. Because making music that appeals to a broader array of people and doing things that are beneficial to her/her health/her personal life and that will make sure she doesn’t oversaturate her banner year she’s having is a good thing. It’s her career, Bobby and her know what they’re doing
