Bradley 59,318
I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that those who do tons and lots of TV promotion nowadays are smaller artists. Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Nick Jonas, Macklemore, Kesha are the ones giving interviews on Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, etc. whereas the huge stars like Beyonce, Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, Eminem only do SNL and a couple more performances at festivals at most. I think Gaga is following Beyonce's footsteps. During Joanne, she totally ignored Perfect Illusion, at most she attended radio stations to give it a boost, but she delivered no performances at all. She did tons of performances for A-YO and Million Reasons but she didn't travel as much as she used to, ignoring Asian and Australian markets. And then we know we don't have a third single. The Cure also did not receive a music video treatment and was not promoted until the AMAs. What I'm saying is Gaga might be following the footsteps of Beyonce. She's getting too huge and too busy to attend interviews and give TV performances. Her time is mostly dedicated to award show performances and one day she might even announce an all-stadium tour. LG6 with no promotion here we go.

TimisaMonster 31,073
Ummm....no Gaga still needs to promote music and Joanne was proof of that...she's a superstar but we live in a world now where singles are released like fast food at a drive thru... She releases and 2 weeks later 5 other more "gp basic friendly" singles have come out overplaying radio Gaga is respected but not remembered if she doesn't promote well. Radio interviews also don't count as well and she did WAAAY too much of that for Perfect Illusion. She needs to promote LG6 well with the first single and release videos promptly Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!
GypsyBabe 22,836
It really isn't like it used to be. The days of solely watching shows to see a musical performance are over... While I would love to get a ton of television performances for LG6, it really isn't going to be effective in reaching a younger fanbase/garnering new fans etc. So I don't blame Gaga or her team for taking a more Bey approach. ⚯͛

JR Gg 12,985
They never saw Joanne as a commercial-successful product and all those promo was essentially not going to make Joanne some smash album. Thus, they decided to not waste much time on the promo. I'm sure they will do more promo with LG6. Nobody wants to walk Bey's path. It's not really good for her career in the long run anyway

I think the music and videos themselves need to be effective to be successful. Taylor proved to be successful with Look What You Made Me Do, accompanied with a great video. However, Ready For It being a mediocre song proved to be much less successful. It is the latter which is promoted and the former is not.

People aren't sitting around their TV's watching musical performances anymore...people aren't listening to radio interviews at leisure anymore...As such, music videos are the best form of promotion and necessary for a song to do well in today's market. They aren't an added bonus anymore. Hopefully LG6 will bring videos that are released appropriately. ⚯͛

Now they are an essential addendum. They have become the single most important promotion for a song...it's really become the only promotion that matters. ⚯͛

Exactly, videos are shared more with social media, people make reaction videos, and sometimes the only way people even know about a song is because a "NEW VIDEO BY ******" pops up in their feed. Plus they help streaming numbers... She can't wait MONTHS to release videos... Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!

I love the John Wayne music video. However, the fact that (imo) her best and most innovative video this era was for a promotional single was a huge mistake, especially considering the quality of the PI and MR videos. That being said, I’m not opposed to every music video that’s released being fantastic. I just don’t know how realistic that is, considering her shaky record with mvs these last couple of eras. Arizona Sky 10,913
I'm not expecting much promo either. We'll probably get SNL, maybe a few other late night shows, and maybe a few award show performances. Also about the same amount of international promo as Joanne. Promo isn't a necessity nowadays, its all about streaming/radio payola. Its important to have good connections with radios and have key Spotify playlist placements. Hopefully Gaga releases at least 3 music videos too. She'll be fine if she does these things.
