Write-ins siphon votes from Moore, not Jones. These models rely on that assumption, it's a pretty safe one to make. 

 Doug Jones needs moderate Republicans and whites to not vote -- these margins look good at the moment 

No, with Alabama political demographics the way they are, Jones needs moderates to vote for him, not to not vote.  Write-ins may siphon votes away from Moore, but Jones HAS to have enough moderates voting for him rather than simply not for Moore in order to win this election.

Here is an interesting thought while we ponder over the results so far and see so many people ready to support a man with multiple accusers (some underage) accusing him of sexual assault.

Lets imagine the shoe was on the other foot.

If your choice was between a Democrat who was:

Pro-Choice
Pro-Universal Healthcare
Pro-Gun Control
Concerned about Climate Change
Supportive of LGBTQ rights
Supportive of BLM/Black America

etc. 

And a republican who was:

Pro-Life
Anti-Obamacare
Anti-Immigration
Anti-Gun Control
Climate Change Denier
Supportive of anti-LGBTQ legislation
Anti-BLM/ supports policy that disenfranchises African Americans.

etc. 

BUT the Democrat candidate had the same allegations against him as Roy Moore does in this election. Who would you vote for?

Girl, me too, the ****.          

But for real, though.  There are an overwhelming number of socially conservative Republicans in Alabama, so either a enormous number(I think unrealistic number, but we'll see) of them need to not come out and vote for Moore, or Jones needs to capture the moderate Republicans who might write in Strange, or some of both, or some combination that sees the candidate with integrity and respect for law elected.

No! Jefferson and Madison counties (and others) only 56 and 37% reporting -- HUGE Dem margin right now and Jefferson county along is 14% of AL population

Jones is in the lead right now according to final projection, he has to maintain his margins

I've never doubted Moore would win  I just hope that the voices of these women that have accused him will not be silenced and they will continue to push for justice.

Still, I'm just wary of projections since the election
