Naor Daniel 937
@lego you could actually put up a decent claim instead of using immature "LMAO" emojis. The bible was written by Jews thousands of years ago. Mentioning Jerusalem more than 600 times is a clear historical indication to their connection to it. It has nothing to do with religion or beliefs (I don't believe in books) but history. Palestinians claim historical connection but they have none. Not to Jerusalem nor to the Land of Israel as a whole.

Facts are important. I’m not denying Jerusalem’s connection to the Jewish people. But you can’t ignore modern problems by bringing up the past. I don’t agree with Muslims who want to destroy Israel either. I just think things can’t be ignored. Okay so we basically agree on this! I protested multiple times for a TWO STATE SOLUTION because I TRULY believe in it. Palestine should exist alongside Israel. But it doesn't mean I like their culture or think their extremism is something anyone should support. I just think it's best for Israel to let go of these territories since it only causes harm. Jerusalem is the capital regardless and it's important for the world to deal with it by recognizing facts first and foremost.

Your posts here prove it. Masjid Al Aqsa/Quds is mentioned in the Quran. Hadiths are another important part of Islam, Jerusalem is mentioned there. Who are you to say it’s not a holy place for Palestinians? You complain they are denying your rights and you are doing exactly the same here and worse. You “don’t care” when Palestinians are being killed, but you expect sympathy. Hypocrisy. FreePalestine

The thing is, an announcement has an impact. It’s no surprise the US supports Israel over other groups. However, this announcement isn’t contributing to any effective peace talks. Of course it’s difficult and has been going on for a long time. But abandoning the international status-quo isn’t doing anything positive for peace. Sure it’s positive for the Israeli government. But there is a bigger picture.

Palestinians are a made up people, the result of British colonialism. There wasn't any Palestinian national identity ever in history but since I'm a rationalist I don't think it should stop them for self determining their destination. As for Jerusalem in the Quran and as someone who chose to further study it, you're completely wrong. A holy mosque is mentioned in the Quran but its location was never. Muslims assumed it is in Jerusalem eventually and Al Aqsa was built in around 700 or 800AD. The site is holy to begin with because of Judaism and the bible. Quran is just an altered version of a book written way before it came to be. Both are BOOKS written by PEOPLE.

As Trump said and he wasn't wrong - nothing changed in the last 20 years, it only got worse. So the status of Jerusalem is irrelevant to the issue. Israel will divide Jerusalem for peace. But as long as Palestinians use violence, they're moving more Israelis to the right and peace will be impossible.

VOLANTIS 16,502
I don't believe there is a peaceful solution to this dilemma and there will be nothing but chaos to come no matter which side Trump shifted. He shouldn't have shifted to either side in the midst of a negotiation but we all know you can't count on Trump to do anything right. The world leaders and peace-keepers are not invested in the matter setting the lives and homes of both parties at the top of their priorities (Israelis and Palestinians) but instead want an economically benefitting ending. To speak the truth there has been enough bloodshed and innocent lives lost from both sides of the argument for far too long to prove "peace" has never been a priority. All they do is rioting and burning their very own towns and villages while most Israelis are completely unbothered. Well this is only your personal bias as both sides have lost many lives and the other side is always to blame. So I am sorry but I don't agree that either side is "unbothered". So you are not bothered with Israeli Lehava type of speech here that Palestinian or Arab lives don’t matter? Interesting you quote all of us, but not him.
