yikes :gum: , can you please explain this? :toofunny:

i feel so ignorant :selena:

Music is a lot more than just lyrics over an instrumental. Consider also that the instrumentation for the song also sound different that could have been a creative choice on Beyoncé's part which would be credited as writing also. The melodies that she modifies or harmonized with were probably determined by her and the producer so they felt it necessary to credit her as such.

Also remember when RedOne said that the only thing he suggested was the O's on Bad Romance yet he got credit for writing. So it could be either of these cases

Beyonce is not a more talented songwriter than Britney Spears period.  Don't even try to overvalue whatever the hell she contributes as a songwriter.  She doesn't deserve any more praise than Britney as a songwriter in any capacity whatsoever.

Is she a more talented overall singer/entertainer/performer than someone like Britney? Yes.  That's where Beyonce should be respected solely.

Like Linda Perry said, Beyonce is talented in a completely different way.  She's completely incapable of writing a song by herself because she isn't talented enough to do it.

All these contributions she makes as a songwriter are absolutely no different than what Britney Spears' collaborators always say about her.  And nobody really takes Britney serious as a songwriter and they should do the same for Beyonce.

did Linda Perry say that beyonce isn't able to create a song? receipts please

edit: i find them :selena:

Ed: Bey would you like to collab with me?

Bey: Dear Ed, I'd love to. Could you please send me the lyrics?

Bey: Ed darling, I found a grammatical mistake here, so I'd like to be credited on the song.

Ed: Of course Bey. You always slay.

She didn’t change the melody though. She added some melissimas, and some harmonies. The composition hasn’t fundamentally changed

The o-o-o is a huge part of Bad Romance though. The song would be incomplete without it.

Guess once again people don't know what they're talking about, I see :emma:

I'm a musician and I write loads of songs on a daily basis and have had writing sessions plenty of times before. When you change even the smallest of words or add or change harmonies you're ENTITLED to completely legally add your name to the writing credits. And why not? I've added vocal harmonies that changed the dynamic of a melody before and I'd be pissed if my name was left off the writing credits and the others would be in because they did not do that particular line and should not be credited for it.

Maybe it's an ego thing, but whatever. It's legal and more than half of you would do it in a heartbeat too :trollga:

i think people is bitter since LEMONADE tho ,+50 writters per song.......

but it seems that Linda Perry did really  say that Beyonce doesn't write nothing in her songs so i think that's why there's a doubt when it comes to Beyonce

Any contribution to the song she does this....nothing new from her end but it is ridiculous

At least Gaga did it out of fairness for producers coming up with certain hooks or minor lyrics

Beyonce could do a random vocal run and say she added "Oh oh owoahe fubejxufbrichebfir" into the song so I better be credited

I don't know why consumers especially Stan care so much about writing credits because the people listed or not listed on a song credit will all have had an agreement before the song comes out.

I mean she wrote majority of destiny child hits

Linda has never worked with Beyoncé and why is it a problem that her album had 50 or 100 people credited it means everybody that had a contribution got their credit which majorly included samples. A song is not automatically better because one person wrote and neither is better or worse if 18 people contributed to it.

Linda in fact said that Beyonce doesn't write nothing and that she only gets credits cause she's popular , i agree with the part that a  song can be good been selfwriten or not  but my point is that beyonce has given people reasons to doubt her autenticity.....

Guys she wrote harmonies and changed 'woman' to 'man' etc.  Cyndi Lauper changed 'Boys Just Wanna Have Fun' to 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' and got a third of the writing credits. lol

still kinda pointless, but she also def wouldn't have done this without some sort of credit.  Also if this gets nominated for a Grammy or anything major, Ed's solo version will probably be the one credited.

It's probably for composition, she does harmonize and play with the melody so I'd say it's for composition not lyrics (composition and melody is probably as important if not more than lyrics)

Despacito was #1 with the majority of people not understanding anything so yes its more important in terms of popularity and charts. Not for me tho
