AlexanderMagno 10,746
It's ridiculous that everyone's believing this story so easily. This year is the year of rape accusations. It's almost the "it" thing. And because "everyone's" doing it, with positive responses, shouldn't be a surprise that lots of them will do it to get somewhere. And this Timothy girl is accusing Melanie while promoting her new single. Coincidence much ? I don't know the truth, but if you want to talk about justice and double standards, you should be a little bit more suspicious about the veracity of these serious accusations. I hate that people on social media are like "Do you think someone would lie about getting raped? Stop blaming the victim!" Like welcome to humanity, people have been lying for centuries just to get advantage of something and rape is not even the most shocking accusation. Remember the days when a legal issue went to court and wasn’t solved through twitter I understand that it’s a serious issue however I don’t think we should start a witch hunt/hoping she rots until it’s actually proven that this woman has in fact been sexually abused. How many times have people targeted celebrities to gain fame or wealth, happened to Gaga with her assistant we don’t know what the situation is yet with this girl. Same thing could be said about Gaga’s rape accusation. What proof do we have that she was really raped and not just saying that to further her career? We don’t, and that’s the thing. We get to pick and choose who we believe without facts because sexual assault is one of the most difficult things to prove. However, dismissing someone like Timothy for not having “proof” is literally what feeds this rape culture that we’re in. We should always make sure the potential victim is okay and proceed from there, instead of just dismissing the whole thing. Imagine if the same would’ve been done to Gaga after she came out with her story of sexual abuse.
