Back then it was impossible for her, before the friendship ended. Now it isn't. It was not impossible since the friendship ended. She is not reliable on Melanie since maybe 2016. Even now, she refuses to go to the police and give her the justice she would deserve as a rapist. Even now, that she's got the public behind her - she still doesn't consider that. She just wanted 'her secret to be out' (quote by her friend she retweeted). This isn't a secret that should end up in a tweet.

she probably has next to no evidence to back this up, making the police useless

She literally CAN'T go to the police, nothing would hold up as substantial evidence in court. Pushing for a court case is both a waste of time and a waste of money and could potentially end in a counter-suit.

I think Melanie saying 'She didn't say no' is enough evidence for a good lawyer. The fact that she didn't deny the actions happening still baffles me.

Rapists in the USA usually get a "get out of jail free card" when a "she didn't say no" drops in the conversation. I've seen plenty of cases where men were just let off because of that. For lots courts the basic rule is "not saying no = saying yes."

And why swould that girl lie, for being raped? What does she gain? If Mel really was her friend like she claimed, why didn’t they talk about it? It seems from Mels statement that she never knew the hurt she did.

If Melanie did it then that bitch deserves to rot, but if she didn’t- Timothy just ruined her career and we don’t know if the motive could’ve been jealousy etc.

I really wish that one of them would take it to court and settle this whole thing. 

Finally someone sane! I think we should look at everyone that's been accused without evidence with the possibility of the accusations being false, not just jump on the bandwagon of hate towards said person. People lie, these situations are hard and everybody jumps fast to conclusions. Such reports need investigation and the benefit of doubt.

Kevin Spacey raped a 14 year old boy when he was in his early 20s (not anthony rapp, another accuser) legit raped. look man first go do your research before you say stupid **** ok

again he was dropped after a THOROUGH investigation by netflix hunny, (many extras and assistants on set accused him of sexual misconduct ON SET) companies like Netflix dont go around dropping their biggest stars without SOLID evidence which is lacking in the case of Melanie and Timothy)

Not being funny but where’s the proof? Remember the days when a legal issue went to court and wasn’t solved through twitter  I understand that it’s a serious issue however I don’t think we should start a witch hunt/hoping she rots until it’s actually proven that this woman has in fact been sexually abused.
