To be remembered as a legend among the likes of Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, etc., she needs to:

1) Stick around and remain at least somewhat relevant for another 20-30 years. If in 2024 you hear someone say "whatever happened to Lady Ga Ga? I haven't heard about her since Poker Face" that's a bad sign 

2) Continue racking up the critical acclaim. More Grammys, Oscar noms, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc. Not only this, but she needs to go for the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, & Tony). A Nobel Prize wouldn't hurt either.

3) Continue spreading her talents across multiple fields/genres for multiple audiences (act in more films, star on Broadway, tour with Metallica for a year, start a cooking empire, become a motivational speaker )

4) Have another iconic pop era...soon  She needs to refresh the GP's memory and I don't think a 13 minute Superbowl performance was enough. It doesn't even have to chart that well (Bey's singles from Lemonade barely made it above #10 on the BB Hot 100), as long as the GP remembers it.

I like this very much.  I don't think #4 is really necessary, tho.  She could have an iconic rock/metal era, or a great stint on Broadway, etc.

Not yet but she's on her way. She recovered her image and GP seems to like her again, but if she retired at this point, nobody would remember her in 10 yrs, especially since the industry has changed so much and is changing as the years go by. Everything is so quick and instant nowadays, new acts are emerging and are simultaneously being washed away. I think this question really depends on gagas ambition as a boundary pushing artist, with Joanne she stabilized her image and career, and now that she has the control she needs, it's time to continue changing the game so magnificently like only she can.

Well she’s atleast one of the biggest icons to ever exist, I’d say she’s pretty much a legend. She has all the qualities to become one.

Britney became because of her videos, she was banned from radio from 2001 to 2004, how can her songs be played on the radio?
