I didn’t see a thread about it so I decided to share. Pixar’s latest film Coco has received high reviews becoming one of Pixar’s greatest films :excited2: already receiving a 96% on rotten tomatoes.

https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2017/11/coco-is-among-pixars-best-movies-in-years/546695/

The film has received some controversy for Disney’s ignorant attempt to trademark ‘Dia de Los Muertos’ but has since tried to maintain cultural accuracy for the depiction of the Mexican holiday with having an all Hispanic/Latino cast and guidance from Chicano activist Lalo Alcaraz. If you haven’t already I urge you to check it out :lolly: also who’s excited for Incredibles 2

I loved the film :selena: mama cried

I watched a video in some Fb page featuring the director of another similar movie that is yet to be released, made by mexicans, and she explained that they went on a legal battle to get the right to name theirs Dia de los Muertos and they won over Disney.

Because it’s green and a misconception to what people actually like, which was the joke in that episode. :emma:

I'm super excited for it after watching the trailers and I'm so ready for another emotional journey  I'll be 50 and I'll still be watching Pixar movies, they're ageless and send across some of the strongest messages :flutter: Too bad it's not out until mid-late January 2018 for the UK :cryga:

It’s even better in Spanish because well you know it makes more sense but regardless in what language you watch it in (I’ve watched it in both English and Spanish :poot:) it is a beautiful film that I loved and was so happy they got it right with the representation. I’m glad they made a movie with a little brown Mexican boy as the main protagonists because I never got to see that when I was a kid.
