I love the Born This Way one.

I remember hearing somewhere that Gaga called the album a journey. She even went so far to make Interscope name the special edition of BTW the 'extended' edition instead because she was keen on the journey idea (even though it's commonly named the 'special edition', she also said she disliked the words 'special' and 'deluxe' (even though Joanne has a deluxe edition :selena:)). The opening tracks, Marry The Night and Born This Way, give an insight to the overall theme of the album - self acceptance - being proud of yourself and accepting who you are no matter what others say; even accepting your flaws.

A lot of the 'bops' on the tracklist are near the beginning (e.g, Judas, Born This Way, Marry The Night, Scheisse, Government Hooker, etc.). I have a feeling this is a way to express an exciting feeling one would have when starting a long journey. Near the end of the album more of the 'slower' tracks are introduced (e.g, The Edge Of Glory, The Queen, Electric Chapel, etc.) that I feel shows some sort of calm yet lowkey excited feeling one would feel near the end of the journey. And of course, it ends on a high - a victory - with The Edge Of Glory.

This is what I think of the tracklist anyways :diane:

Born This Way and Joanne have an awesome tracklist, but ARTPOP''s was very intentional and very interesting, even if it wasn't my favorite album.

Massive props for its great transitions: Aura to Venus (Fm), Venus to GUY (ancient Greek mythology theme), GUY to Sexxx Dreams (Cm), MANiCURE to DWUW (Gbm), Swine to Donatella (EDM drop), Donatella to Fashion! ("slay" backing vocals, fashion/lifestyle theme), Fashion! to MJH (Em/G), MJH to Dope (themes of drug-induced hedonism and its effects), Dope to Gypsy (piano transition from Eb/Cm to C was pretty good).

Plus, the placement of Aura right in the beginning, ARTPOP right in the middle, and Applause right at the end, is super super cool.

3 points in and ready for more
