Other countries have done it and theyre still there. But everything is meaningless if people just sit back and watch things happen, every american should do their homework and do what they can to stop it. What am I reading ?! Of course it's not the end of the Internet but please wake up. This can go way farther than just paying few dollars. It can impact the whole industry ! A big actor can basically decide to kill any competition and thus hinder innovation. They can literally choose what website you'll access. What kind of biased news you'll read. What kind of product you'll buy online. I think you don't understand the scope of it and how dangerous it can be. Espacially when you can't trust any company. SychosSoChic 9,995
Honestly it's a tyrannical idea, and if America goes through with it without so much as a protest or riot from the people, then y'all somethingthati'llgetaWPforbutit'snotflattering Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us. Adakam 2
For hundreds of years people have fought to protect our rights, even when they knew that fight would lead them to their demise or even death, its sad to see that the only solutions offered are sending emails and doing a protest that most people will be lazy to even attend and fall under "let someone else do it/me being there wont make a difference". And after it passes, people will just swallow it and let it happen. While nonviolent and peaceful, we dont need just a dec 7th protest, we need to stay in protest until its done, but hitting them where it hurts them, the money. If they are doing this for the money, then the only way to stop it is making sure they dont get it, lets jump on the real world for a while and make a huge blackout, get rid of your ISP even if you have to let go of the internet for a while, or if its absolutely necessary, buy the least packages possible, make your bill lower than it is now. Also, if you work for these companies, help from the inside, make unions, make sure you pass negative feedback, and if possible, quit working for them (again, fighters of our rights didnt let fear stop them). Support and invest in the smaller companies, even if they service isnt great, focus your money on them, the point is to make the big ones lose it. Fighting for our rights sometimes involves sacrificing our comfort, this is one of those times.
