Yup. People I know know the song. They just don't like it.

In hindsight, PI just isn't good. But fortunately MR sold a boat load and The Cure did OK on WW radio, so 2017 still served for us. (Plus the tour and album selling well itself, of course.)

Commercialy yes but when it comes to quality Perfect Illusion is without a doubt the much better song

I feel that PI would have been received better and not as a constant screaming if the bridge highlighted these lyrics instead of “mistaken for love/it was a perfect illusion”

With time i have started to sing the backup vocals during the bridge and actually forgot the " it was a perfect illusion" is playing over it .

Agree though, first time i heard the song i was like "hmm that's it? she is just screaming Illusion the whole song?"
