It literally is what you do when you know your career is over and you still want to make profit from it. A residency show is an hommage to your ended career

as i said in a different thread, 

shes not eyeing pop superstardom anymore, she doesn’t care about being #1 and she shouldn’t. she’s following Tony’s advice at eyeing longevity over churning out little quick hit singles and touring forever..

shes done catering completely to 8-17 year olds and is looking for a more older broader appeal, one where she knows the 18-55 year olds can save up or have the money to travel to see her, buy the albums and keep her going as a performer, she’s been doing it since Joanne started.

Why do I feel like this Million Reasons YouTube payola was just to apease the fans before announcing the Vegas residency? 

And why is it I feel Gaga is intentionally letting her career slip down the toilet?

People also said that when she released C2C and Joanne and Gaga is still here and relevant. 

I guess we just have to wait and see how the residency is planned and how many shows are spreaded over the 2 years. She has big gaps to do album cycles in between.......
