For me personally despacito opened gate to way too many Latin bops that I consider today as my most played genre right now :lolly:

I feel like people only hated the song because 1) it’s in Spanish, 2) most successful song since Closer/Hello/Uptown Funk, and 3) it featured Justin.

I doubt any of y’all hating on the song actually heard the full song, or even gave it a chance. Y’all just saw that a Spanish song was dominating the charts instead of your fave, and that made a lot of y’all upset ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If it was Taylor or any other pop diva, y’all would be foaming at the mouth and calling it iconiqué/ a classic/ etc.

But whatever, I’m glad such a good song that’s a piece of art in quality compared the majority or the US’ top 10 charted songs dominated the country, especially being a Spanish song in Trump’s America. Hope it wins big af the regular Grammys in a few months :whitney:

Taylor gets bashed 24/7 here, I don't see your point. :lolly: Don't compare Uptown Funk /Hello to Despacito, it's blasphemy:gaycat:

Half of the people here bash her (oops, kinda guilty of that lol) and the other half like eating her a$$hole at every chance they get, but that’s beside the point. You know my argumental points are somewhat true, tho :bon:

and I’m not saying Despacito is close in quality to Hello or UF, because it’s not, but it is just as successful (maybe even a little more). I still think that Despacito was overrated and overplayed to the max, but I’m tired of people blindly bashing on it :toofunny:

Well it was THE song of the year whether people like it or not. It dominated the world for months and I'm not a fan of reggaeton but I'm happy to see a latin song get that amount of recognition, especially from Puerto Rico which had an awful year. I know y'all only care about your "Pop queens bops sLaYinG the charts" but it was an important song in today's society regardless of its genre or lyrics.

Formation had social impact to women. They ignored it and gave everything to adele. It's based on popularity but also their own taste

Even Despashito was better than that annoyingly awful song. :lolly:

I hate both songs anyway. :whitney:
