weed 73,564 Posted October 4, 2018 Share Posted October 4, 2018 omg y'all when Queenie was sitting with Mr. March and the door opens for the first time, me and my friend just before were like "omg what if Gaga made a surprise cameo" and had a mini heart attack thinking it was her lmaooo but anyways!! such a good episode!!! wtf!! This season is sooo good. I'm GAGGED at how much the plot has changed so far! and it has come so naturally! The flashbacks with Kathy Bates were so campy that it really took me away from the whole feel of the narrative. The prayer, 'Nema', the goat were just too over the top. It didn't balance well with the storytelling. 2. Why is Myrtle Snow alive??? She wanted to be dead, right? WTH was that all about? 3. The video of the exploding head was like a parody of a horror film. It made me laugh, which shouldn't be the case, I don't think. All stories of the witches before they found the Coven were campy but not funny. It's a fine line that must be treaded carefully. 4. I still don't know why roses are resistant to change. You didn't even answer your own question Zoey! Are you telling me all roses have been enchanted before? Aaaahhh this is driving me crazy! --- Everything else was just so good! The previous episode was a little better in my opinion; but, this episode is phenomenal in its own right. The seamless transition from the Hotel to the Coven elements were so beautifully woven together. It was weird to see the male coven test their students. It was different and brought a different taste of the world of magic. It was also really interesting to see their tier system, and their opposing spells compared to the witches' powers: Scrying vs. Divination, Salire Per Spatium vs. Transfiguration, etc. I was looking down on them as well while watching the episode. The storytelling made it so clear how male magic was inferior, and I believed that with what they showed this episode. I was also quite satisfied with the explanation of how the testosterone of men makes it impossible for them to be on the level of witches. I am excited for next episode! This feels like all episodes are woven into one giant movie. It feels quite different than how other seasons of AHS end their episodes. The cliffhanger was so strong in this episode I almost punched the screen when the credits showed up. And can I just say, the cinematography and camerawork this episode were absolutely brilliant. The fireplace behind Langdon and Cordelia looked like wings, the last shot of Michael looked like he had the sun as his halo. It was just so genius. Can't wait to watch the next episode!
