TF/M eras were so massive and her radio play was great, media was very positive and active and hype for her music was there. BTW rode off the momentum of that, but experienced a decline in media interest, radio play and hype, which means that ARTPOP didn't have the momentum behind it to do as well. The marketing for ARTPOP was also way worse. Including the first single leaking then having to compete with Katy’s first single. Then the drama with the second single. Then the drama with the second singles music video. Then the manager drama. I think everybody behind the scenes especially Gaga just wanted this era to end.
