Its actially for children born woth undetermined gender. Which doesn't really make it an LGBTQ issue. Its a very welcome devision though. Its not that long ago the newborn was whisked away from mother by doctors who decided the sex and made surgeries without the parents knowledge. The German government will now recognize the existence of a third biological sex, one that can neither be categorized as male nor female, also known as intersex, and it is a biological condition when the genitals of the baby are ambiguous and resemble both/neither a penis and/nor a vagina... Look it up! This is a very necessary law since so many parents tend to DECIDE the gender for their powerless baby, putting them through surgery to alter their genitals, which often results in psychological problems once the baby is an adult, and impelling them to undergo surgery to change their sex again. Based on the first comment i quoted it seems like sex is what was the main reason for this anyway Anyway my bad. I actually thought gender and sex were same thing just different wording After living in Canada all these years theres still english words and terminology i mix up all the time.
